Chapter Three - I Can Protect Myself

Yoongi's pov
   A month goes by, and my lover named Taehyung started to act-- rather jealous of the people I have been hanging out with. I wonder why? I haven't done anything wrong to make him suspicious of who I hang out with. At least I don't think so.

I'm on facetime with him at the moment. "So, I see you've met new people, are they all good friends of yours?" I laugh a bit. "Yeah! They're great. I like it here baby."
   I say, not worried about the situation. "You know.." he says, trailing off in his thoughts. "Yeah?" I respond. "If anyone happens to cause a problem, or if anyone tries to hit on you, I wouldn't mind flying over to protect you. You know how much I love you right? So don't be afraid to report anything to me." This feels off... it's as if I can't protect myself?

"What are you on about?" I ask, being a bit defensive over myself. Not wanting to tell him about Jungkook just yet, since he's already willing to come all the way over to "protect me".
"Just- you know, if anything happens to occur, I don't mind-" I cut him off, annoyed by how he was talking to me. "Baby, I'm fine. I can protect myself, got it?" He stares at me as if he wouldn't want me to cut him off ever again. "I wasn't done talking." He gives me a stern look.

Look at this douchebag! "Baby, did I upset you?" I say, trying to stay calm. "No, you didn't." He says, sounding pissed. "You know what? I'll just call you tomorrow, you sound grumpy, you should go to bed. It's late anyways. He rolls his eyes. "Fine, goodnight." I see his hand reaching over to his phone. "Good-" the call ends. What the...?

   The next morning comes to a start. I'm navigating through my day, my thoughts occasionally come across the voice of my angry boyfriend from last night. I feel my phone buzz inside my pocket. I take my phone out, just because I'm curious. I click on the notification from my boyfriend. It reads "Sorry about last night baby, I know I wasn't acting like myself. I just find it funny how you didn't bother appreciating what I do for you, you know? Along with the way your tone of voice was rude towards me when I was just trying to protect you. Text me back when you see this."

   I put my head down, putting my phone back into my pocket. What kind of apology was that? I start to feel upset, feeling like this is the start of something big between Taehyung and I. Our relationship felt perfect before this. What went wrong..?
I feel a tap on my shoulder. I ignore it, just wanting to be left alone. The tap happens again, but twice this time. God, who is it? I just want to roll up and disappear.

I lift my head, annoyed to see a smiling Jungkook. Great, it's him. "What is it?" I ask while I whisper to him. Jungkook gets up, grabs his stuff, and slides into the seat beside me.
   He looks over at me, asking in a whisper "you okay? you look more tired than usual. You always look tired but today it's worse than usual."

His sentence takes me aback, I sigh and put my head down again. "Gee, thanks..." I say. "Just leave me alone, today isn't my day..." I say, upsettingly. I feel his stare on me. Along with feeling that he sets his head down while looking at me."Oh come on, tell me what's wrong," he whispers back. "I'm fine... I'm just tired." I reply. After a few seconds, he replies. "Alright, if you say so."

   Hours go by, and I have yet to answer my boyfriend. Yet, his pathetic apology was written concentrated on his feelings, so I rather ignore him for a couple of hours.
I'm in a cafe by myself, drinking a coffee, that's now cold. I've been thinking for the last hour or so about the situation. I'm so tired, I should go home. I have a feeling by now that Taehyung must be angry or upset that I haven't texted him, yet I have no energy to text him back. Neither do I have the energy to resonate with him, so it's been hours since I've muted his texts.
