Within an instant of stepping away from the building I was immersed in flashes.
"Taylor!"
"Calvin!"
"Over here!"
"Are you dating?"
"Does Harry approve?"
I heard the words, some random, some distracting, some just plain hurtful.
Adam heard them yelling Harry's name too. But instead getting upset he only looked at me. He knew I hated it. He wrapped his strong arms around my shoulders, another arm around my waist. He did his best to shield me. I appreciated it.
He leaned into my ear, "Your friends aren't very nice." He whispered. I laughed. He was so good at playing along and distracting me.
After what seemed like an eternity of exposure, we made it into the back of the black SUV. Adam politely held the door open for me and closed it behind him.
"Welcome to the crazy world of Taylor Swift!" My bodyguard called from the front seat. Adam broke out laughing, the stress from the moment starting to subside.
I was still a little on edge, and fumbled with my very stubborn seatbelt as the car began to speed away.
"Need some help love?" Adam asked kindly. Without waiting for a reply he leaned over his seat to adjust my belt. I started to laugh as my cheeks flushed a bright red. Great I even need help with a seatbelt. I thought to myself. Adam however, thought nothing of it and grabbed my hand once more after it clicked.
"Where we going sir?" My guard asked Adam. He looked at me.
"Would you like to see my place?" He asked politely. It just dawned on me I had never been to his house in the four weeks we had been dating.
"Yeah sure." I said. I wasn't cold or angry or sad. I was purely enjoying myself.
After a few twists and turns and traffic we arrived to a giant mansion outside the city. The car was parked on what seemed like a mile driveway. Adam jumped out from his seat and opened the car door for me on the other side. He took my hand in his and helped me out.
"Thank you kind sir." I said indirectly mocking his over gentlemen-likeness.
"My greatest please your majesty." He wittily replied.I walked into his massive living room for the first time. The first of many I thought to myself. I couldn't help but gaze around, his place was decorated to modern perfection. It was spotlessly clean and perfectly arranged.
"Woah" I breathed.
"You like? What's mine is yours." He said taking in my surprise. "And if your wondering why it's so nice, well you will have to thank my wonderful house workers. They're not here now though." He followed up.
"You have maids?" I asked.
"More like house cleaners, they only come every once in a while. It's gotta be nice for my guests." He winked. I walked around to a massive kitchen which once again took my breath away. It was stocked with foods and the newest cooking supplies.
"You cook?" I asked surprised, I had so many questions. Thankfully he had patience.
"Haha yeah, in my spare time, the health kick kind of got to me."
"I love it." I said as I walked around, my fingers gliding around the countertop island.
"Once again what's mine is yours. Feel free to come over and use my kitchen whenever you want." He smiled, happy to have sparked my genuine interests. He then led me upstairs guiding me through spare bedrooms, walk in closets, and oversized, luxurious bathrooms.
"Your place.. it's-"
"Huge. I know. I barely use all of this." He said humbly.
"I was going to say beautiful." I finished. "Maybe I should just move in." I joked.
"You always can if you want, as you can see I have enough space." He replied sounding hopeful.
Maybe he actually wanted me with him here. I entertained the idea for a moment but quickly dismissed it. That would be a bad idea. For a finale, Adam finally led me to his master bedroom. What was to greet my eyes I did not expect. I never pictured him the luxurious type but that's exactly what met my eyes. The room was huge. I giant queen sized bed adorned with matching pillows was the main focus of the room. It had flawlessly white, puffy sheets. It rested on a beautiful frame made of wood. To the right were windows that reached the floor. To me it seemed invasive of privacy, but with a better look you could see there were huge, think, long white curtains and a view that looked out only to his backyard. Perfectly exposed, I thought. The room matched in earthly colors of a pale while, deep forest greens and wooden dressers. To the left led another huge bathroom. Complete with a bathtub sized for two and a shower out of a movie.
"So this is your playroom?" I smirked. This room was definitely dressed to impress.
"Haha no, unfortunately I'm not Mr. Grey." He joked with a movie reference for emphasis. Couldn't help but let my mind wander... How many girls has he brought home for a night?
"It's wonderful." I concluded. And that it was. It would take some time, even for someone adjusted to the nicer things like me, to get use to the place and consider it a "second home."
Adam slipped off his shoes and advised I do the same.
"Get comfortable." He said as he sat down on the huge bed. I joined him but hesitantly. We were all alone in a huge bedroom with dim lights and late at night. What a wonderful setting for romance I couldn't help but think.
"You okay?" He asked noticing my mood had shifted.
"Yes are you?" I said trying to brush off the unfamiliarity of it all. He then took both my hands in his. Here we go.
"Taylor, please put your guard down. I know what your thinking and no, I have no intentions to anything you don't want to. Did I forget to tell you how beautiful you looked tonight?" He said trying to alleviate the atmosphere. I appreciated his effort. I could tell he wanted nothing more than for me to like it here. To feel at home. I wanted to. I wanted the familiarity, that until now, only Harry could bring. I decided this it. Let down my guard if only for tonight. This is home I repeated in my head.
"Thanks for saying that." I finally replied. I let my muscles relax and focused my attention to his hands. They were large and warm and my own fit in his perfectly. He had long fingers built for his profession. I then gazed into his eyes. It was the first time I truly stared into his blue eyes since the night we first met. They were an ocean tempting to swallow me in its deepness.
"You're not so bad yourself." I commented once I had noticed he caught me staring. He smiled. I liked his smile. No I loved it.
He inched closer, this time I didn't back away. It made the effort to clothe myself in confidence and just run with the night. I noticed he was giving my body a run down too, lingering at my lips.
"You are truly stunning." He said after a long pause. I think I could hear the world around us buzz it was so silent. But it was not an awkward silence. No this, this was actually familiar. I spent many nights with Harry in complete silence just enjoying each other's company. I never knew I could feel this way again.
"Are you going to kiss me now or what." I finally said in a sarcastic tone. He was so close, his yearning for my lips was practically visible on his face. This time I had made him blush, but he recovered, quickly.
"I'm not going to do anything you don't want me to remember?" He said slyly repeating his words when I had been on edge.
"Well do you want to kiss me?" I asked, already know the answer.
"Very much yes," he breathed, his accent possibly the sexiest thing I had ever heard.
"Dare you." I replied now biting my lip, the anticipation of it all finally mounting in my stomach. I had not kissed anyone for nearly three years.
Without further delay he leaned to plant the kiss he so desperately wanted for who knows how long. I felt his lips pressed against mine in the sweetest array. It lasted and his lips tasted sweet. I felt his hand cup my face he pressed deeper still. When we finally broke I could honestly say I had wanted it too last. He just smiled and searched my eyes for my response. This time I smiled back. It was sincerely genuine.//
And so the romance begins! What did you think? Have any ideas what's going to happen next? Please please please leave some comments, THANK YOU!!!!
