Marinette's plan had been to get Léa somewhere safe, then go to transform.

That's not what happened.

The akuma this time was most definitely getting a spot in the hall of fame for most violent and destructive akumas over the years. Being as tall as a five story building definitely helped it's goal of destroying as much as possible in it's path. Luckily, whoever it was looked like a giant doll instead of Godzilla or King Kong (she never wanted to see those two again).

The current problem was that, while passing by, it stepped one foot into the courtyard of the school and picked up a few students, one of them being Léa.

Marinette cursed loudly as it made its way towards the Eiffel Tower. The loud, terrified scream as it had lifted Léa straight into the air echoed in her ears. "Come on, Tikki." She hid behind a piece of completely destroyed stairway. "Tikki, spots on!"

There was no time to lose, the death toll, no matter how reversible, would be high with unintended victims just because of the sheer size of the akuma.

For once, no one tried to stop her as she made her way in the same direction as the akuma. "Where is it going?"

What was its goal? It was destroying buildings and picking up kids. How would that help it?

"Ladybug!" A young man shouted, waving his hands to get her attention.

Ladybug jumped from the roof, her yoyo wrapping around a street light to slow her fall. "Are you okay?"

The guy shook his head. "Look, the akuma is my kid. His name is Trevor, we're visiting his grandma- we didn't know turning into giant monsters was real. We thought my mom was joking!" He shook his head in pure disbelief.

Ladybug felt a sliver of unease. "Unfortunately the akumas are very real. My job is to turn them back to normal. Can you tell me what happened?" The more information at this point, the better.

The man took a deep breath. "Trevor was playing in the park and I said we needed to leave. But he'd found a friend and they we're playing with the dolls he brought, so when I told him we needed to go, he started throwing a tantrum."

That was good information. Better than what a lot of the locals gave. "Did you notice a purple butterfly?"

"Yeah, yeah I did." The dad rubbed his eyes. "It flew towards my son's doll. I think it grew along with him."

Good, good, that helped deciding what to do about this.

"Alright, I need you to listen to me. I am going to save your son. In the meantime, I need you to contact the police and inform them that you are the current akuma victim's father. Can you do that for me?" She maintained eye contact with him.

The young man nodded. "Alright. Alright, I will. I will."

Trusting that he would do as he was told, Ladybug swung up on a nearby roof the take stock of the situation. Currently, as far as she could see, the akuma had caused a severe amount of property damage and his head was now sticking out from behind the Eiffel Tower. She couldn't see if he was still holding the people he'd picked up.

"Hello there, Bugaboo. Lovely day for some akumas." Chat landed right beside her on the roof. "So, what do we have?"

Léa had spent countless hours listening to Marc ranting about akumas. How they'd destroyed his day and traumatized kids. How they'd fucked up the whole city emotionally on every plane possible and left people that didn't know how to properly express any kind of negative emotions.
