As I was being pulled outside, the cool night air hit my face and made me shiver. I looked up and saw it was already night. I saw a few spots in the sky, they could be stars or airplanes.

"Hey! Where are you taking me?" I asked. I was really confused.

He didn't say anything. We just continued walking. We kept walking until we got onto the pier.

The pier had a bunch of concession stands with diffrent colored lights hanging across from each stand. There were also carnival games that you could win huge or very small gifts. The air smelt like fresh pastries, like elephant ears and funnel cakes.

There is no way I'm following him. I just met him today. I thought to myself.

I tried to pull my hand away from his, but he tightened his grip wouldn't let me go. Not enough to hurt me, but enough to make me a bit scared.

"Let me go, I can walk myself," I said as I continued to try to pull my hand away from him.

He slowed down to a stop. The lights from the carnival games and ride lights made him look taller than he actually was. Finally, he let go.

"Just follow me, okay?" He turned to look at me. His eyes were looking straight through mine. It felt like he could read my thoughts.

"Why should I follow you? I don't even know where we are going. You could be a serial killer and bring me to my death." I said with a bit of fear hidden in my voice. I backed up a step ot two. I don't think Aries noticed.

"Don't worry angel. I'm not a serial killer," He said rolling his eyes.

"I promise. I just want to show you something." He said with kindness.

"I'm still unsure about you. I mean I just met you today." I covered my arms with my hands. I let my left foot take a step back in case I needed to run at any point. His expression changed to uneasiness.

"Alex, please. Your-" He paused. His sudden silence made him sound like he need to choose the right words to say. To my understanding that was also the first time he used my name without teasing.

He lightly shook his head "Just come on. I'm serious." He said in a serious tone.

My feeling of confusion turned into a feeling like I was done with his bs at this point.

"What are you talking about? You're being confusing. I mean. . . not as confusing as you normally are," I said.

"I just want answers. When did u become serious all of a sudden?" I was becoming more impatient. Aries looked stressed and impatient too. He kept looking toward the arcade, which was behind us, and then back at me.

I started to turn around to look behind me, but Aries just grabbed my wrist and tugged hard. His grip on my wrist forced me to follow him.

"Ow! That hurts. Let me go!" I started to yell. But Aries didn't say anything. He just kept walking. Which was almost a jog for me. I had to keep track of not tripping or falling.

He just pulled me behind a carnival game stand and held me close to him. My back was pressed on his chest. And he was covering my mouth. Panic started flooding in my head. I tried to set myself free. I tried to look up but all I saw was him looking around the carnival stand and back onto the pier. I didn't know what to do. The only thing I could think of was to backward headbutt him in the jaw. I pulled my head forward and with all that I had, forced my head back. The back of my head collided with his jaw.

He instantly let go of me and pulled his hands over his mouth. I felt like running but at the same time, I felt like yelling at him for just grabbing me like that.

I almost blacked out but caught myself before almost falling over the pier and into the water. The back of my head started to sting, badly.

That's definitely going to leave a bump or something. I thought to myself as I rubbed the back of my head. I turned around and was getting ready to yell at him.

"What the actual fuck is wrong with you!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. Aries looked like he was panicking and was signaling me to shut up.

"No, I will not shut up until you tell me what the fuck is going on?" I continue to yell at him. He wasn't answering me at all. Finally, he looked back over into the pier one last time and sighed in relief.

I could feel tears forming in my eyes. Fuck, I can't let him see me cry. That's embarrassing I thought to myself.

I tried to wipe my tears but they escaped before I could get to them. Aries saw me and slowly walked up to me. I could feel that he wrapped his arms around me.

Wait? Why is he hugging me? I thought to myself in confusion.

He smelt like nutmeg and caramel. Heavenly smells. I could just hold him forever. But he backed away, forcing me to also let go. I wanted to hug him again so I could feel warm again but he just held my shoulders and looked at me. I could feel my eyes stinging from crying.

"Are you okay? Angel?" At this point, I don't care if he used a nickname for me. Until I realized what all had just accrued. I pulled away from him quickly.

"No. I'm not okay. I want answers." I didn't yell this time but I was still pissed at him.

He didn't say anything. Like always. He just looked around like he was trying to make up a fake answer. Or give me some lame ass excuse.

I was so done at this point I just scoffed and tried to walk away. I succeeded at getting past him. I almost got back to the busy, bright pier, but he said something that made me stop.

"Alex, you are not ready to know the truth yet. But I promise I will protect you,"

I turned around to protest but he disappeared into thin air.
