The elevator door opened with a ding and both boys made their way in. Agent 8 went toward the back of the elevator and again leaned against the railing. Agent 3 turned around and pressed the lobby button and soon the doors shut and a quiet tune started to play as the elevator went down towards the first floor.
After a couple of seconds, they arrived at the lobby and made their way out of the elevator towards the front door. Agent 3 walked straight ahead while Agent 8 turned to glance at the old man and noticed he was looking up at them. Agent 8 gave him a small wave and the old man returned the wave with a smile. Agent 3 stood at the entrance with the door open waiting for Agent 8 to step outside. Agent 8 turned his glance back to Agent 3, thanked him for opening the door, and walked out. The bells hung on the door jingled as the door closed behind the two.
They quietly stood in silence outside the building, right next to one another.
Agent 3 shivered, shoved his hands in his coat, and looked over at Agent 8. Agent 8 looked up at Agent 3 for a second before grabbing the list from his pocket.
"Soo where to first, if you can even read Agent 4's scribbles that is." asked the inkling. Agent 8 shook his head and moved closer to Agent 3 showing and pointing at the paper.
"8 can understand perfectly. Not hard at all, we will be fine."
Agent 3 raised an eyebrow and shrugged looking ahead. "If you say so, dude.."
Agent 3 started walking towards the metro to start heading over to Arowana Mall. Agent 8 followed along behind him looking over the list.
"Should go buy gift preparations since it will be easy first. We will carry a lot of objects today." Suggested Agent 8 as he walked faster to catch up with Agent 3.
The two boys walked in silence together, the sound of their shoes crunching on the snow could only be heard. A few birds chirped here and there, but that same awkward silence from before was still there. Agent 8 kept himself busy by looking around at his surroundings.
Loads of apartments were nicely decorated for the season, Agent 8 was always mesmerized by the blinking colorful lights put out. So far he was enjoying Squidmas, but still wondered what else he was missing out on. Agent 3 just silently kept on walking thinking to himself about what to do today, he was going to be stuck with Agent 8 for a good while. Agent 3's thinking was interrupted when he heard a low grumble next to him. He turned to look at Agent 8, saw the Octoling stop, and put his hands on his stomach.
Agent 3 took out his phone and checked the time, it read '8:10'. Now that he thought about it, he didn't have breakfast other than a granola bar. Agent 8 was probably in the same boat as him too. Agent 3 put his arms behind his head and stretched.
"I'm guessing you haven't eaten breakfast as well," Agent 3 asked while giving Agent 8 a side glance. "Well I know a Diner nearby Inkopolis so why not eat breakfast together, we have a long day ahead of us anyway."
Agent 8 looked up at him and then looked down at his feet thinking for a second. Agent 8 was told breakfast was the most important meal of the day, so breakfast was a go-to right now. Also as Agent 3 said, they had a long day ahead of them.
Agent 8 looked back at him and nodded. "Ok, breakfast time."
