A week later, Draco and I have hardly spoken. It's been lonely. He doesn't wait for me in the mornings for breakfast and Pansy has taken my seat by the time I get to the dining hall. Theo and I went to dinner. It was alright, but awkward. I could tell we both were nervous, but he was nice. So nice, he did everything right. Which is why I felt bad when all I could think about was Draco. We talked for hours, he told me a lot about his parents, and I finally learned that he too has a hatred for Voldemort. His father however, does not. His mother simply followed her husbands beliefs for the sake of their marriage. Theo doesn't know what he'll do when it's his time to recieve the 'dark mark'. The end result is, Theo and I are trying us out and if it doesn't work we promised to not change a thing. It's just an expirement.
"Happy birthday, Annabelle!" I'm met with a group of people, some I know and some I don't, when I come out of my room. Astoria, who I finally talked to last week after realizing I needed more girl friends, is standing at the front of the crowd. We clicked immediately, she hates Pansy as much as I do, she loves music and she hates spiders. We sat together in our classes every day after we started talking and we just clicked.
I notice Theo standing beside her, smiling up at me with a bouquet of flowers in his hand. I smile as I finish my way down the stairs and wrap my arms around him. "Thank you guys so much, you really didn't have to do all of this. It's nine in the morning on a Saturday, I know you forced some of these people out of bed." I laugh at Astoria as she shrugs.
"You deserve it, Anna, I wish you the happiest sixteenth birthday ever." she hugs me and I smile.
"Now, Theo is to treat you to an amazing day and then I will treat you to an amazing part this evening. Have a great day." Astoria explains and I nod as she walks off to some other people. I quickly scan the room, noticing how Draco isn't here. Part of me is upset, I understand he's angry that Theo and I are 'ruining our friendship' but it seems like he's doing a better job at that than we are. Another part of me is angry, how could he miss my birthday? After everything, every talk, every party, everything, how could he just not show up?
"Are you alright, Anna?" Theo catches my attention, handing me the flowers and I nod, "Yes, of course, this was amazing. These are amazing." I smile, lifting the flowers to my nose. He laughs and wraps an arm around me.
"Go up to your room and get dressed, Astoria has given me strict orders for today."
I laugh as I nod and start my way up to my room, stopping as I see the small box in front of my door. I pick it up and walk inside, confused.
I open the small, velvet box and let out a sigh "Oh my Merlin." I breathe out. I pull the beautiful necklace out of the box and smile. I look around for a note or any hint at who it could be from but there's nothing. It must be from one of the other girls, or a surprise from Theo. Either way I put the necklace on my table and pick out clothes for the day.

Theo made the day amazing. We shopped, had lunch, he bought everything I picked up just to look at, he wished me a happy birthday so many times I started just walking away.
"Seriously, Theo. I understand that I should have a happy birthday." I laugh as we walk into the common room.
"Oh wait!" he steps in front of me, stopping me and I laugh as I try to walk around him. "Cover your eyes, I'm not supposed to let you see."
"Theo, I have to change. How am I supposed to change for a party when I can't get to my room?" I laugh.
"I'll go get your clothes, you can go change in a bathroom."
"I know you did not just tell me to change in the bathroom. For my birthday. I want to look good." I argue.
"You'll look good. Trust me." he smirks down at me and I roll my eyes. "Fine."
Before I say anything else he scoops me up, almost dropping me before getting situated, "Close your eyes."
I lean my head against his shoulder, blocking my vision. I feel him walking into the common room and I hear the whisper of people around me.
"Theodore, I told you not to let her see!" Astoria yells , "She can't see!" Theo yells back.
We get into my room and he sets me down, closing the door behind us. "What do you think you're doing?" I laugh and he shrugs, "What do you mean?"
"You have to go, I'm going to change." I laugh and he shakes his head, "I'll close my eyes."
I laugh as he turns around. I grab my dress, a loose purple dress, spaghetti strapped, and landing just below my upper thigh. I slip it on and struggle zipping it but I get it up after a minute. I take my hair down, letting it fall down my shoulders. I smile as I touch up my makeup.
"Okay, you can turn around, also will you help me put this on." I grab the necklace and hand it to him.
"Wow. You're—wow. Gorgeous." he smiles and I smile. "Where'd you get this?" he asks, wrapping the necklace around my neck and clasping it.
"It was at my doorway this morning. I thought maybe you got it for me."
"Nope, wasn't me." he says and I turn around, his eyes scan down my body and he smirks, "Woah."
"Come on, lover boy. I'm ready for another 'one for one'." I smile, grabbing my wand and tucking it in my bag before walking out to a fully decorated common room.
"Happy birthday!" the entire room echoes and I smile. Everyone is here. Everyone except Pansy and Draco. Not that I care much about Pansy, but Draco I do care about.
