Nicholas groaned, his stomach was in pain and he could hear beeping. Annoying him even more.
Gasping, he tried to use his elbows to prop himself up but a pair of warm and gentle hands laid him back down.
"Lay down, Nikolas." Ali whispered reassuringly to him.
"Ab?" Nicholas winced, his hand going down to his stomach, freezing as he felt something like a line on his stomach.
"Hey, easy, easy," Ali said as he gently held Nicholas's hand while also bringing the one on his stomach up to hold as well.
"Ab, what happened?"
Ali sighed, "Basically these men came to your school and they after a minute or so of deciding, they decided to chose you and you got shot, pushing Ms. Bustier."
Nicholas quickly sat up straight, "Is Ms. Bustier okay?"
"Nikolas," Ali said and pushed Nicholas back down, "Stay down. We can't risk your stitches."
"Stitches?" Nikolas asked.
Ali nodded, "Yeah, on your stomach."
Nicholas froze as he realized his hand touched the stitches.
"Am I gonna be okay?"
Ali smiled, "Your gonna be fine. Maybe a bit sore though."
Nicholas nodded then hissed, "That hurts."
Ali nodded sadly, "Yeah, it's gonna be like that for a while."
"How long have I been asleep?"
Ali winced "Around 45 to 65 hours."
Nicholas glanced around the room, "Where's Ami? Is Nino okay? Is the baby okay? Was it born while I was sleeping?" Nicholas asked. Clearly freaking out.
Ali gently held Nicholas's hands again, "Mom has gone to get Nino, Nino is fine as well he just wants you better, and the baby was not born, mom still has 4 months left and the baby is very healthy." Ali explained.
Nicholas nodded, "Okay, and why is my stomach being stabbed?" He hissed.
Ali looked sad, "The doctor said you'd be in a lot of pain, he can only give Tablets to help you sleep through it."
Nicholas nodded, "Okay, and when is-"
Layla's screech cut him off as he was quickly held in warm arms.
"Hi ami." Nicholas breathed out as his mother's grip went tight before letting him go, eyes filled with Anxiety and Happiness at the same time.
"Are you okay, Nikolas?" Layla asked, brushing her hair away with her hand.
"I'm fine Ami, my stomach hurts but that's it." Nich explained, hand drifting back to his stitches.
Ali sighed and moved his hand away. "Stop touching the stitches. Also love. Where's Nino?"
"With Marinette." Layla replied.
Ali nodded, "Okay. My partner said she'd be here soon. She got worried."
"Aww. She didn't have to." Layla said.
"I said that to her and she just told me to stop talking basically." Ali chuckled.
"Good." Layla sighed.
"Hey!"
"Ami is right." Nich grunted, shuffling further down on his back so that he was laying flat.
"Betrayed by my own son." Ali joked.
Layla giggled and Nicholas laughed lightly.
Ali smiled and Nicholas out stretched his hand towards Ali's hand to hold.
