- 1 week later -

Nicholas groaned and shifted, his stomach hurting even more, glancing at his clock he saw it was past 3 in the afternoon. Sadly his pills wore off making him wake up in pain. again. This was the 100th time this week he's woke up in pain. He slowly got off his bed and walked outside, his father's co-worker Kila has come by so Ali can talk her into letting him into his fathers company. If both him and his father are working it might make money easier for his family.

As he slowly crept past his fathers office, he tried going to the kitchen but Ali cut him off, "Nikolas, before you go to the kitchen, come meet Kila!"

Nicholas sighed quietly and turned to his fathers office door, opening it slowly he sat down on the chair Ali led him to.

"Okay. Kila, this is my son Nikolas, Nikolas, this is Kila. My co-worker." Ali explained and Nicholas nodded and waved shyly.

"Hi." He said, quietly.

"Hey kid." Kila said with a small smile.

"There we go." Ali breathed out, "Nikolas, would you be happy knowing a big secret I have."

"Ali dear, are you he's ready to see this? I'm worried your pushing to hard." Kila said.

"Nikolas?"

Nicholas eyed him wearily, "Sure?"

"He did not sound confident in you, Ali." Kila said, worriedly.

Ali smiled softly at him, "Fenikk, come out now."

Suddenly a black creature came out from Ali's pocket on his top, he stared green eyes onto Nikolas's hazel eyes.

Nikolas's eyes rolled into the back of his head and he passed out.

Ali and Kila simply stared, "Huh? He wasn't ready." Ali said and Kila simply sighed.

Ali quickly bent down and picked Nicholas up. Being careful of his stomach.

Sighing, Kila opened the door and Ali walked to Nicholas's and Nino's bedroom. Grunting, he laid Nikolas back down and hastily left the room.

"He wasn't ready?" Kila asked.

"Oh shut it Kila." Ali chuckled.

Kila snorted "Nope. That's your job." She took a breath, "Who's the guy in orange? You told me about him."

Ali sighed, "I don't know. He pushed my boy out of the way with the first bullet. The second one hit him."

Kila nodded, "So we know that he isn't about to kill your son?"

"Yeah." Ali sighed and slowly sat down, his worry for Nikolas is growing.

"Ali," Kila sighed, "Be a dear and slow your breathing down. You sound like your gonna have a heart attack."

Ali glared but didn't say anything.

"There we go." Kila sighed and sat down in front of him, "We're gonna train him from now on. We need to be sure something like this, it can never happen again."

Ali nodded, "Okay. I'll go pack his bags and get his tablets then we'll head off."

Kila nodded and smiled, "Okay." She said, quietly.

Ali sighed and left the room, heading to Nikolas's bedroom first. He grabbed Nikolas's bag, left a message for Layla, and took everything out of Nikolas's bag and packed it with clothes and batteries for his phone.

Ali sighed as he carried Nikolas's bag to the front door and dropped it. Moving to the kitchen and grabbing Nikolas's painkillers.

"Okay." Ali breathed out and slowly went towards Nikolas's room again.

"Nikolas?" Ali said and he heard Nikolas breathing lightly instead.

"Nikolas." He repeated louder and Nikolas grunted in response, hands moving around and realizing that he was back on his bed. Propping himself so that he was on his elbows.

"Dad?"

"There we go. Nice to see your up." He chuckled and walked over. Kneeling down next to Nikolas.

Nikolas flopped back down, not able to hold his weight anymore. "That stills hurts." He said.

Ali held out Nikolas's painkillers and Nikolas grunted and reached for them.

Ali handed them to him. "Make sure to get ready."

"Why?"

"We're leaving in a few minutes." Ali said and left the room.

Nicholas grunted and slipped on a pair of joggers and a hoodie. Casual but comfy. Escpiecally since he's in nothing but pain right now.

Sighing again, he stiffly walked out of his room and followed Ali to Kila's car, Ali putting his bag in the trunk and Nicholas sitting down in the back seat of the car.

"Alright." Ali sighed and sat in the front passenger seat, "Nikolas ready?"

Nikolas hummed and nodded, swallowing his pills, "Yeah."

Ali smiled "Okay. Enjoy your nap." He chuckled.

After a solid 5 minutes, Nikolas was back asleep and breathing lightly.

Ali smiled in his son's sleeping direction and moved his gaze back to the snowy outside.

"Ali," Kila said, out of nowhere and got Ali's attention, "sleep." She stated.

"No. I need to stay awake for Nikolas." Ali said.

"If anything happens to your son I'll help him. Or I'll wake you up. You know me." Kila said.

Ali nodded and smiled, "Okay. Thanks."

Kila gave him a small smile, "Of course."

Kila didn't know how much time had passed in the car, day turned into night and she was running low on gas. Sighing, she turned her car into a gas station.

Kila sighed and got out of the car, moving to place a stick filled with Patrol in her car.

She felt sickness crawl up her throat, she tried clearing her throat but nothing worked, she went into a bathroom and threw up, she groaned as she wiped her mouth and left the bathroom, seeing Nicholas out of the car and stretching. Although she could tell he was in pain.

"Hi, Nicholas." She greeted and Nicholas smiled, "Hi, Kila, are you okay?"

Kila snorted, "I should be asking you that question. But I am fine."

Nicholas chuckled, "In a bit of pain but I needed to stretch.

"You should be sitting down." Kila smiled and Nicholas snorted.

"Not happening for a sec. I've spent too much time laying down and sitting." He chuckled and Kila opened the door. "Get back in. I'll wake your father up."

Nicholas thanked her and sat back down.

Kila shut the door and got in the front seat, "Ali." She said and Ali instantly woke up. "Huh? Yeah?"

"1. We need to swap cause I'm tired and 2. Nicholas is awake." Kila said and Ali nodded, "Okay, come on." Ali said and he and Kila both swapped seats instantly.

Kila sighed in relief as she sat down and felt her eyes starting to forcefully close, "You can sleep now Kila." Ali chuckled. Kila sighed in relief and allowed her eyes to close. Allowing blackness to envelop her eyes.

"Dad?"

"Yes, Nikolas?"

Nicholas took a moment to think, "You won't let anything happen to me right?"

"Of course, Nikolas." Ali answered with no hesitation,  "Why?"

"Because there was a letter in my pocket saying to meet him at any rooftop in America. With this." Nicholas explained and handed Ali a small box with a letter.

Ali stared at the small hexagon shaped box and the letter that said anybody Nikolas knew could come if they had a miraculous.

"Nikolas, I need you to do something."

"Yes, dad?"

"I need you to wear this and find out who this man is. I'll be coming with you." Ali said.
