Ali sighed. It's been around two to three days by now. Nikolas still hasn't woken up.
"Nikolas please son." Ali whispered as he leaned forward "Wake up for me and Ami."
Nikolas just stayed laid down. Lifeless.
Ali sighed. He rested a hand against Nikolas's shoulder.
"Please wake up soon. I can't bear seeing you like this anymore." Ali whispered and laid down on the couch. His hand stayed intact with Nikolas's as he fell asleep.
Layla yawned, sitting up, she gently brushed away some greasy strands of her hair away from her face.
Suddenly the door opened. Nikolas's doctor walked in. "Any improvement Ms. Lahiffe?"
"Nothing sir." Layla sighed. She cupped Nikolas's face.
"We'll do another MRI scan, and we'll see how the burns are doing." The doctor said and write it down on a paper clipboard.
Layla nodded. "Okay."
"I'll inform the nurses and we'll get him in the MRI very soon." The doctor said and walked out.
There was a clutter of footsteps just outside the room just before the door was thrown open.
"Where's my grand boy?" Aisha asked. Panting heavily.
"Heading to the MRI scan soon." Layla answered and showed her Nicholas.
"Oh my baby grand boy." Aisha said and moved next to Nicholas.
"He's been asleep for over two days. He can't wake up." Layla sighed. She hissed in pain and placed a hand against her stomach.
"Dear sit down for a minute." Aisha said. She quickly moved to help Layla sit down.
"What's wrong with him?" Aisha asked, she sat down next to Layla.
"Burns on his brain. By James Kingman." Layla answered.
"Burns on his brain?" Aisha asked in shock. "What did that monster do to him?"
"We don't know. We need Nikolas awake for us to find out. But that man left damage." Layla said.
"I'm gonna kill that man." Aisha said. Much more angrily than anyone has seen from her.
"Get in line with me and Ali." Layla weakly chuckled.
Once again, the doors opened and a few nurses came in, "We need to move him to the MRI scan."
Layla nodded and gently pulled Ali's hand away as the nurses carted Nikolas's bed away.
Aisha sighed. "Why must this family be cursed?"
Layla blinked "Cursed?"
"Every time something bad happens in this family it's usually related to Parwiz. He's like the family curse." Aisha growled.
"If I may ask, Aisha," Layla started, "Why did you marry that man?"
Aisha sighed "Me and Parwiz used to be friends. Best friends actually. I was in a average paid family and Parwiz was in a rich family. Our parents became friends and forced us to marry each other by eighteen. Then a year later, I had Ali's older brother, two years later Ali, then much more years later his little sister." Aisha explained.
"But Ali never talks about his siblings. I met them once and that was that." Layla said.
Aisha sighed "He was always different from his siblings and family. He was the adventurer one. His brother a poor boy who just wanted to impress Parwiz. His sister got sick but she fought it through and she was sent away. Everyone thought that she was to dangerous with her sickness to keep. She kept in touch before she decided she had a better family with younger siblings." Aisha ended.
