A few days ago, I got to know that Y/n is friends with The Boyz. I was shocked at first, but after Y/n told me how it all began, I was relieved because I know my best friend is an innocent girl, unlike me.
I think I have made a huge sin in my past life to be born as Choi Dong Pyo's youngest daughter. Yes, you heard me right. I'm the youngest daughter of Choi Dong Pyo and my elder sister is Choi Hyewon. My name isn't Areum instead it's Ara, Choi Ara. He said that he doesn't want me to work in the cafe under my real name.
To be honest, I just want to live a normal life, but my dad always says that I need to help them with their missions which I despise so much. Killing innocent people... I don't know how my dad and my sister can be that cruel.
Dad said that our mom died giving birth to me and my sister, but little did he know that I know that he killed mom because she didn't like what he was doing. If my grandparents weren't here, I would be living a life full of lies.
As you may know, The Boyz is my dad's rival gang. And I also know about the past relationship between my sister and Juyeon. My dad is greedy... Greedy for power and wealth, and because of that, he wanted to take The Boyz down since they are the most powerful yet youngest gang in South Korea. But fortunately, his plan of taking them down didn't work.
I'm also aware of the fact that The Boyz did a background check about me after their leader and that rude boy whom I supposed are Sangyeon and Sunwoo along with Y/n met with me at the cafe, because simply I'm an outsider to them and they can't trust me. But, I know that they couldn't find anything suspicious about me since my dad has done all his might to hide our real status after my sister's and Juyeon's incident. Haewon went to Australia after she failed that mission, to take TBZ down and she returned to South Korea a few days ago. She didn't go to Australia because she was guilty, but to do other heinous stuff.
I feel sorry for The Boyz because they don't deserve anything bad. My dad still hasn't ceased his evil traps to take them down. What's more disturbing is that dad got to know that Y/n is close with The Boyz. I knew that she got kidnapped by a smaller gang because my dad ordered them to do so. When I overheard dad talking over his phone about him kidnapping Y/n made me drenched in guilt. But what could I do? I was helpless after all...
Now that I met two of The Boyz members, I should be extra careful. Because if dad or sister get to know that I had met them, it'll be a great opportunity for two of them to sabotage them using me and I don't want that to happen.
That day when Y/n and those two boys left the cafe, I saw how that rude Sunwoo boy immediately changed his demeanor when he was with Y/n and the other boy. They treat her like a real family and I'm genuinely happy that she has people like them in her life. Maybe, I envy her a little bit too? But it isn't her fault just because I was born into a greedy family that thinks only about wealth and power.
Y/n looks so happy when she's with The Boyz. So I swore to myself that I'll save her anytime when it comes to my family. She's like a sister to me. She's a kind-hearted soul just like her grandma. Better and more genuine than my own sister.
I leaned over the upstairs railing to see my dad and sister talking in the living room. I went downstairs to get their attention.
"Hey, looser" my sister's annoying voice called out, making me roll my eyes as I sat beside my dad on the Black, leather, sectional sofa.
"What brings you here sweetheart?" my dad questioned me as I slightly smiled at him.
"Dad, I know that you want me to be like Hyewon and join your gang" I paused and took a deep breath before continuing. "But dad... I can't do that"
"What?! Dad can you hear what she's saying?!" Hyewon yelled in disbelief.
"Okay. Now, tell me, Ara, what made you say that?" dad asked me with a calm voice.
"Look, dad, I just want to live a peaceful life and that's why I chose to work in a cafe even though we have lots and lots of money!" I replied, running a hand through my long hair.
"Did you know that Y/n girl is close to The Boyz" Hyewon said as my breath got hitched.
"What? What did you just say?" I quickly put on a clueless face, furrowing my eyebrows.
"Your best friend Y/n, she's friends with The Boyz" she further explained with a smirk on her face which I wanted to rip off.
"Ara. Since you are her best friend, I think you can help us-"
"Please dad, no" I stood up as both of them looked at me. "Please, I'm so tired of this life already. I just I- want to close my eyes f- forever so that I won't be feeling this pain anymore" I hung my head, letting my hair frame over my face as I saw my dad staring at me with wide eyes which made me smile secretly.
Weak spot... Good job Ara...
"I'll be in my room if you want me" I said and proceeded upstairs.
No way I'll let them allure me into their evil plans...
