Flashback
Year - 2012 (Jacob and Kevin's Backstory)
Age Order - 13, 12
3rd Person POV

"Wohooo we are going to South Korea!"

"I'm so excited!"

The two little boys squealed in excitement, sitting on their airline seats, knowing their dream is about to come true.

"Jacob and Kevin, please behave well" Jacob's mom sternly said from the back seat, making them quiet and look down at their laps.

Kevin's mom sighed, "Are you sure about this Bora?"

"Definitely!" Bora shouted. "Duri, you know very well that raising a child without a father isn't easy besides that we don't have time to take care of ourselves too" she whispered and looked at the front airline seat to see if the two boys heard anything, but they were in their world to know that something suspicious is going on.

Hours Later

📍Incheon International Airport

"Children, stay here till we go to that shop over there okay?" Kevin's mom pointed at a duty-free shop that was a bit far from them.

"Okay mom" Kevin smiled as his mom teared up and hugged him.

I'm sorry my love...

"Here" she took Kevin's hand and placed some money in his tiny hand.

"Mom, why are you giving me money?" he questioned with a look of puzzlement on his face.

"J-just in case" she stuttered. She then smiled, pecking Kevin's forehead, and turned to Jacob who had a sour expression on his face.

Jacob's mom rarely gave affection and attention to Jacob since he was a baby because she thought that Jacob was the reason for her husband to leave both of them.

"Cobie-ah" Jacob slowly looked at Kevin's mom, who kneeled in front of him and stared at him in adoration which he always wanted his mom to do.

"Promise me that whatever happens, you and Kevin won't leave each other"

"I promise! I and Kevin will stick together like super glue!" he giggled. "But why did you say like that aunty?"

"No reason" she sighed and hugged him, kissing him on the forehead just like she did to Kevin a few minutes ago.

"Come on Bora, let's go" Jacob's mom came towards them with their luggages. She then proceeded to give the 2 little boys their kids rolling luggages.

"Keep them with you safely" she said and turned to leave when she felt 2 little arms wrapping around her leg preventing her from going further. She looked down to see Jacob looking at her with innocent eyes.

"I love you mom" he softly said, making her feel guilty, but she quickly threw aside that feeling and bent down to hug him.

"Be safe, my dear" she murmured into his soft, brown hair.

Jacob's smile broadened from ear to ear as he felt his mother's warmth and the words that he longed to hear. But little did the two boys know that, this will be the last time hugging their mothers in their entire lives.

Jacob's mom broke the hug and went to the store with Kevin's mom after giving some money to Jacob too.

30min Later

"It's been 30 minutes maaan" Kevin whined.

"Should we go and check on them?" little Jacob questioned while his eyes were darting around the airport.

"We probably should"

The two boys then made their way to the shop their mothers went and got greeted by the cashier in the shop who had a big smile on her face.

"Hello" both Jacob and Kevin politely bowed, "Have you seen our moms?"

"Your moms?" the cashier asked and they both began to describe them.

"I'm sorry, but I didn't meet anyone like you said boys" she apologetically said as the boys frowned.

"I- it's okay. Thank you" Jacob softly said and went outside with Kevin.

"If they didn't come here, where are they?" Jacob looked around, tiptoeing.

Kevin was quiet the whole time, thinking about something, "Now I know why they gave us money, also why my mom took a promise from you" he gazed down.

"Do you mean they-"

"Yes! I never thought they would do this to us" Kevin sniffed.

"No... No... Mom! Mom! Where are you?!" Jacob panicked and began to shout frantically.

"Jacob..." little Kevin hugged Jacob as they began to cry.

"We need to be strong. Whatever happens, let's face it without leaving each other okay? Let's show them that we can survive without them" Kevin said in between hiccups.

"Come on" they broke the hug and exited the airport. As they were walking on the side of the road, Jacob collided with another person which made them both fall on the sidewalk.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA" Kevin roared in laughter at the sight of the best friend landing on his butt.

"Owww" Jacob pouted.

"Oh my god! Are you okay?" a silvery voice spoke out, making them both look at another boy who looks like their age.

"It's fine" Jacob smiled as the other boy helped him to stand up and hold his luggage.

"My name is Sangyeon and I'm so sorry" Sangyeon looked down, pouting.

"It's okaaay" Kevin giggled making Sangyeon giggle as well.

"Where are you guys going?" Sangyeon asked when he saw the two mini luggages they're holding.

"Ummm" Jacob slightly teared up.

"Our moms left us!" Kevin stomped his feet.

"What? Okay, let's about this at my home. There are two others with me in the home. Do you guys want to be friends with me?" Sangyeon questioned in anticipation.

"Sure!"

"Yes! Another friend!"

"Let's go!"
