Aya's POV:
I wake up to see my sister by my side, unusual but my mind guesses she suffered another panic attack last night. I sigh softly, staring closely at her, watching as she stirs suddenly."Good morning nee-san" I greet sweetly, smiling at her gently. She mumbles a reply, making me giggle softly. Something tells me my hypothesis was correct as she wraps her skinny arms around me, snuggling close into me. I giggle again and hug her back, resting my head against her collarbone.
"Alright...breakfast time~" she cooed softly, nudging my body to move out of bed. I slowly climb out and slide across the floor, my slippers scuffing against the ragged carpet. I trudge to see my sister making coffee again, I swear she's addicted to the caffeine. As I walk around to prepare a meal, I glance quickly at the calendar. In small text under the date it says 'pupil free day'. I wonder what it means, unfortunately I am unsuccessful as my memory is foggy due to my body still waking up. I turn to Manami who is drinking her coffee, as usual and walk up to her, lightly tugging on her sleeve.
"Nee-san, what's pupil free day?" I ask with a questionable tone. Manami stares at me, letting out a faint giggle.
"Pupil free day is a day student do not have to attend school, in other words a day off" Manami explained. My eyes lit up in excitement, a whole day to myself was perfect. All the possibilities filled my mind, causing me to giggle and jump around playfully. I watched as Manami laughed at my childish behaviour, gently ruffling my hair as I smiled at her.
"You behave today alright, I have to leave for work now" Manami said, smiling softly at me. After she changed she quickly pecked my cheek and ran off for work, I looked to see she had forgotten her folder, forgetting things became a new trait of hers yet I still admired her no matter what. After an hour of watching a movie, she still had not come to collect her folder. Sighing, I picked up the folder carefully and walked outside, keys in my pocket and made my way to her work. Upon leaving the building, a man approached me, short raven hair and brown eyes. The man smiled at me, allowing me to identify who he was. A smile widened across my face as I ran towards him.
"Daddy!" I cried happily, hugging him tightly. He chuckled and hugged me back tightly.
"Aya-chan I'm so happy to see you" Japan smiled. He let me go, ruffling my head softly, causing me to giggle. He slipped a piece of paper into my hand with instructions on it.
"Aya-chan I can trust you to follow these for me yes?" He asked, looking at me with a pleading look. Completely blind by my emotions, I nodded then walked off, continuing my previous intention. Browsing over the instructions, the feeling of uneasiness became present, a heavy feeling building in my chest.
"Investigate Manami and report what she is up to" ,was the only instruction. I promised to spy on my sister, my own sister who's protecting me. But I cannot go back on a promise, torn by my mistakes I continue to make my way over to deliver the folder. I walk into the building, air conditioning engulfing me as the sweat on my forehead cooled down. Pressing the button calmly, nervousness began to build within me, my body trembled, my head jerking back and forth frantically. A lady came into my view as the doors opened.
"Can I help you miss?" She addressed me. I swallowed the lump in my throat and shakily opened my mouth to answer her.
"I-I'm here to s-see Manami H-Honda" I stuttered, nerves taking control of my entire body. The lady smiled and stood up from the desk, walking around to confront me.
"Of course I'll show you the way" she replied. She placed a hand on my back, making calm down considerably, yet still my anxiety grew. The clicking of they lady's high heels timed in beat with my heart as it continued to rush as we got closer to Manami's office. Carefully the lady knocked on her door, her knuckled creating a hollow sounding tap against the glass door. Before I could release the breathe I had been holding, my sister, Manami appeared in front of her in a blind panic.
"Oh! Aya-chan!, Why are you here?" She asked. I simply nodded and held out the file before me, her eyes lit up and a sigh of relief appeared to wash over her. Manami took the folder off me, gripping it tightly.
"Aya-chan, thank you so much for bringing this to me, I was having a mini panic attack" she giggled nervously, breathing shallowly. I looked past her, peering into her office. I saw a framed photograph of our father, Manami and myself. I assume she still loves father, she just doesn't trust him. Under her table was her bag, filled to the brim with documents and other necessities a woman needs. Also tapped underneath was a small throwing knife, she must have snuck it in because a pristine establishment like this would never allow a weapon. Finally in the corner was a coat rack, holding her trench coat up off the floor. Nothing of interest caught my eye, well at least what my father was looking for. I smiled back at Manami before giving her a hug and walking home again. When I arrived home I wrote down every single item visible to the naked eye on a slip of paper. A shaky breathe curled off my lips as I picked up the phone, dialling my fathers number.
"Daddy...there was nothing suspicious within her office, and sister is not planning anything at all...."
