I just looked on to his brown eyes, something was different this time. Something didn't turn my organs to physically desire him- no. My heart shifted in it's cage. I felt speechless.
"Princess?" A voice called to me, I turned. A maester. I just smiled and looked to him.
"Yes? What ever is the matter?"
"Your.. Well. It's-" The master began to trip over his words, but Luke jumped in.
"You're standing on parts of his hair." Luke said, I looked down, and surely. I was. I stepped back.
"Oh, pity. My boots had just been cleaned. Anyways." I began to talk, as the maesters took the head from my feet, as Rhaenyra approached Luke, resting a hand to his shoulder.
"Who's this?" She asked with a smile. Jace gestured up to me.
"It's Y/n mother." Jace explained, Rhaenyra turned to me, I bowed to her.
"Princess Rhaenyra, I'm Y/n. I'm glad we've finally met. It's unfortunate they are in these circumstances." I remained knelt, I slowly looked up to her, she had a small smile on her face.
"You may rise, can't have you kneeling all day can we?" She smiled. "I understand you have discussed certain things with my father, he told me the true nature of your comings here." Her eyes locked with mine. Was she threatening me? This meant Viserys told her I was the child of Saera, but a bastard with no father. Raised in a pleasure house in Volantis. Fuck.
"I'm sure you're aware it is a... Sensitive subject of matter. In which had to be changed for my own safety. But it was not my intention to come here and achieve what I did." My eyes glanced around to the lords and ladies that had began to flee the room. My mouth grew parched. I wanted her to like me, she was family after all. Another set of footsteps approached. I looked, my eyes were met with Daemons once more. His expression eased since we last met. I bowed my head.
"Prince Daemon." I greeted him.
"Princess Y/n." He simply bowed his head back, now this, all of this was awkward. But thankfully. Jace snatched my hand. My eyes looked to his, I smiled.
"Come on, I need to show you something." He demanded, dragging me away like a child. I looked back at Rhaenyra. She looked at Jace, eyes wide.
"Jace!" She called out to him. "Jace!" She called him again. He turned, smile still on his face. "Gentle with the princess." She gestured to me. I just laughed slightly. Jace let go of me. I rubbed my hand.
"Sorry Y/n." He smiled, but he nodded for Luke to follow us to. It felt strange. To be so serious and practical for a moment, then to run off like children. It's something I had never known in my life. No love, no friendship, no family. But they felt different. Like Viserys. His warmth was in his daughter, and her children. Jace gave me an apologetic look, as we started off down and out of the hall. I caught Daemon giving Rhaenyra a look. Her expression faded. As I had just noticed where Daemons hand lay upon her. Upon her baby bump.
I was at the front courtyard now. Following Jace on his crusade. "So where are we going? Plan on killing me off?" I joked. He turned. Stuck.
"No! Why would you think that?" He asked, his cloak swaying as we walked through the front gates. I shoved him slightly.
"I'm messing with you, calm down." I let a small concealed smile through. I walked past people on the street, many bowed, I waved to them. Giving them all smiles. Children played so close to the keep because it was so well guarded. I looked to where Jace was leading us. It seemed to be to the pits. "Are we to see the dragons?" I asked him.
