The loud footsteps echoed across the stage in the gymnasium, slowly creating a respectful silence in which the new freshmen of Hope's Peak Academy turned their heads.

A man with black spiky hair and a formal-looking suit walked slowly across the stage, stopping in front of the pedestal and tapping the mic.

"Mic check?" He asked quizzically, earning a few humbled laughs within the sea of students. "Apologies for the wait! Welcome to Hope's Peak Academy!"

The crowd clapped after the greeting, making you wince with the pure excitement you felt radiate off the walls of the large gymnasium.

"I'm Jin Kirigiri, your headmaster."

As the classes clapped once more, a sudden chill of uncertainty stood out in the crowd like a lighthouse beam on a cold and rainy night at sea. You latched onto the feeling, hoping it would lessen the pain in your head.

Glancing around, you noticed a girl with silvery purple hair and a tie, staring stony-eyed at the headmaster as if he were the bane of her existence.

You noticed immediately that her chair was labeled for the Ultimate Detective.

Beside her, was a rather plain looking boy, who squirmed uncomfortably in his seat. He tugged at his shirt collar, obviously nervous. His chair was labeled for the Ultimate Lucky Student. But he wasn't too important at the moment.

The Ultimate Detective interested you. Why was she so upset? Did she have a personal vendetta against the headmaster or was it something else?

Before you could think more on it, the cheers ceased and the headmaster began speaking once more.

"I'm so excited to start a new school year with the new freshmen, especially our Ultimate students—" Headmaster Kirigiri gestured toward the front row, making you bow your head in embarrassment as some students cheered. "..I hope everyone graduates with the goal of instilling hope in mind!"
