WYATT
I sit in my truck parked outside the club, nervous. Fucking Leah. Why? Why am I letting such a tiny woman force me into this shit? She doesn't dictate my life. I haven't been working overtime to avoid Abbie just so I can be dragged to a club to hang out. What does Abbie think of all this? Did Leah tell her it was a date? That she was trying to set us up? That she was forcing this upon me? Does she think I'm here just as friends? Has not seeing Abbie this last week gotten her out of my system? Hell no. I just wish I knew what I was walking into. Is this a date? Is this a friends thing? Fucking Leah...
I get out of my truck and pay my way inside. I'm not going to sit here feeling stressed about something. I'll figure out what the hell is going on once I get in there. It's early enough in the evening that the place isn't packed yet.
"WYATT!" I hear Leah squeal. Of course she was watching the door for me. My eyes flick to Abbie and fuck, she's fucking hot. She's wearing some kind of black lace that looks sheer. I'm praying it's not. I will not survive if I can see her nipples. The image of her standing there in her bra has been permanently ingrained in my mind. No matter what I do, I can't stop thinking of her like that. She also wearing a leather mini skirt that shows off her long legs. Shit. I hold my finger up and head to the bar. I need a drink. A strong drink. Maybe several.
"Vodka," I order and the bartender pours it.
"You're pissed," Andy chuckles as he leans against the bar next to me.
"Your wife needs her ass kicked," I huff as I throw back the liquor.
"I'll spank her later tonight for you."
"I don't need details," I state as I signal for another.
Andy quietly watches me as I down two more shots. "You going to quit being a pussy at some point tonight?"
I flip him off and order a beer. "Just tell me, does she think this is a date?" I turn around and watch Abbie and Leah giggling at something.
"Nope. We're just hanging as friends."
"Convenient," I roll my eyes.
Andy orders himself another drink and I feel him studying me. "I've never seen you this worked up over a girl before. What's going on?"
"Nothing."
"Liar."
"What do you want me to say?"
"The truth. Finally tell me the truth." He's been hounding me nonstop since camping. He knows me well enough to know that I like her. He wants me to admit it to him though.
"There's something about her. I don't know what it is and it's freaking me out."
"So there's chemistry there?"
I turn and stare into Andy's curious eyes. "She's the first girl I've wanted to kiss since Ivy."
"Whoa. Seriously?"
"Yeah and I don't even know her. It feels dangerous and I can't go there. Your wife though..."
"Wyatt, go have fun. Let's just show her a good time. Just go with the flow and see what happens."
"I know what'll happen if I go with the flow."
"Then you definitely need to go fucking do that then. When was the last time you fucked someone?"
"None of your business."
"God you're such a pain in the ass sometimes. Just go have fun. Just be a friend." He says something to the bartender and then two fruity drinks are displayed before us. "I'm suppose to bring them drinks back. Can you help?"
