ABBIE

The smell of bacon pulls me from my sleep. I stretch awake and I'm immediately giddy. Wyatt... He's fixing me breakfast. He's taking me on a date. He gave me mind blowing pleasure. I giggle as I kick at my covers in excitement. I'm so excited, I feel like jumping out of my skin. Delilah's giggle makes me leap out of bed. I can't believe she was sick and I wasn't here for her. It sounds like she feels better though.

I step out of the room and lean against the wall as I observe them unnoticed. Delilah is just beaming as she looks up at her dad. It clinches my heart. She's definitely turning into a daddy's little girl. He's scraping small bits of eggs in her plate. I watch as she takes a handful in her fist and shoves them in her mouth. It does a number to my heart to watch her and see Wyatt standing here half naked in my kitchen. He's shirtless and his strong back muscles are on display. His sweat pants are riding low on his hips. He's incredibly sexy.

"Da da da da," Delilah begins to babble and I fly into the room.

"What?" I hear the wonder in Wyatt's voice.

"Da da!" I cheer! "She just said da da!"

"I know," is his giddy reply. Talking is one of the milestones she hadn't reached yet. Her doctor assured me it was fine, but I was getting nervous. She babbles and waves. I taught her a bit of baby sign language that she picked up right away. No talking though. She's almost one and it's sometimes hard to remember that she'll be a bit delayed because she's a preemie.

"Da da," she says again.

Wyatt suddenly picks me up and spins me around. Both Delilah and I giggle at the action. "I can't believe it," he grins at me. His eyes are full of awe and excitement. He's just beaming as he places me back on my feet.

"I'm glad we were both here to experience this," I say softly.

"Me too." The air between us grows thick as his eyes flick down to my lips. He searches my eyes and I lean in and give him a small kiss. I smile into the kiss as Delilah begins laughing at us. Wyatt's chuckling too. "I'm happy," he says as I cuddle against his chest.

"I am too," I admit. I haven't felt this happy in a long time. Wyatt is a missing piece to my soul and I need him. Being together with him and our daughter, I feel complete. "You're burning the bacon."

"Shit!" He bolts to the stove and I laugh at him.

"Yeah, I mucked this batch up."

"And stunk up my house," I giggle.

He pulls it off the burner, turns and looks at me. He looks so sexy leaning against my counter like that. "Can I take you out tonight?" He seems a bit fearful, like I've changed my mind already, even though I just kissed him.

"What about Delilah? She's sick."

"She's not in pain anymore, and I'm pretty sure you have the best babysitter ever for a sick kid." True. I wouldn't have to worry with Cora watching her. "Let me take you out. Please."

"Ok," I smile as his smile grows.

"Perfect. Sorry about the hickey, by the way."

"Wyatt," I giggle. "You didn't!"

"Hey! You see these marks all over my chest?" Regret fills me. I was taking all my anger out on him. It wasn't right of me to hurt him like that. "You got the better deal here."

"I'm so sorry." I helplessly stare at the angry scratches.

"Don't be. It was hot," he chuckles. I roll my eyes at him.
