A Hint of Spice

Chapter 17

Wandering down the stairs and across the wooden floors I adventured through the house I was staying in. There were 3 bedrooms and 2 baths upstairs. There was a bath downstairs too and a huge living room with a leather couch and a massive flat screen tv. My phone was gripped in my right hand as I walked through the house. The kitchen was soon spotted where I searched through all the cupboards and through each shelf in the fridge and freezer. It looked well stocked for me. I set my phone on the counter where it buzzed soon after. I gripped it and opened the text. It was from my all time bestest friend. Liam; "Hey babe heard you were in the neighborhood. ;) wanna hang out? Long time no see!!"

I quickly replied, my thumbs darting across the screen. "Yes! You know where I am! Come get me! Ill grab my bikini in case we go swimming! x" I darted upstairs and quickly changed into some cute clothes with my red and white checkered bikini underneath. I brushed my hair quickly and then slipped my phone into my short jeans shorts pocket. The pink shirt scrunched at my thin waist and somewhat drooped at the top. I grinned and ran downstairs waiting for my friend.

The door swung open and I leapt into his arms. My knees bent behind me as he hugged me tightly. "I missed you." I fixed my shirt after he set me down. My pink flip flops were slipped onto my feet as we talked. "How you been?" I asked.

"Good. Well, Danielle broke up with me shortly after you left but other than that fine." He replied smiling.

My hand flew to my mouth. "I'm so sorry!" I hugged him again, my head pressed into his chest.

He hugged me close and kissed the top of my head. "It's ok. She was moving on as was I." He smiled at me as I pulled away. "So I was thinking, we could go to the diner downtown since you love going there."

A grin swept across my face. "I'd love too!" I grinned and ran outside to his convertible.

We drove down the road, the wind flying through my hair, the music blaring. I grinned, my hands in the hair as I sang along. Liam laughed at me as we headed to the diner. My phone buzzed in my pocket making me pull it out of my pocket and look at it.

Niall; "Hey gorgeous. How you been? I miss you! Call me soon? xo"

I grinned and quickly replied. "I've been ok.. I miss you bad! I'm hanging out with my friend today. I'll call you when I get home. x" I continued to sing until Niall texted back.

Niall; "Ok love. Have fun! Send me a pic? xo"

"I'll Instagram it. x" I replied smiling and putting my phone away.

We pulled into the diner parking lot and Liam killed the engine. We got out grinning from ear to ear and grade inside. I walked to the bar and took a seat. The waitress smiled warmly. "What can I getcha?"

"I'll take a chocolate milkshake.. Jessy." I smiled at her as she looked at me funny.

"Keeley?" I nodded grinning. A grin spread across her face quickly. "Keeley!" We hugged over the counter before I sat back down. "How are you?" She asked. "The usual?" She looked at Liam.

He nodded and smiled as she called to the guy in the kitchen telling him out order. "I've been good. How's Louis and you?"

"We broke up for a short while but we're back together and going strong." She grinned and winked. "What about you?"

Liam stood and headed to the bathroom. I waited till he was out of earshot. "Niall and I are going strong. I hope we can stay like this. It was hard for him to let me come here.." Her confused look pushed me further. "We moved to Ireland." I said smiling down at my new milkshake places in front of me.
