"Are you sure it's alright, Layla?" Steven asked once again.

"Yeah, you don't have to do this," Charlotte stated.

"No no no, I can handle this," Layla reassured. "Coltin and I are going to have so much fun, right buddy?" Layla bent down to the kid beside her, his backpack filled for an overnight stay with his new Auntie.

"Right!" Coltin shouted with excitement. They stood outside of Steven's apartment building, a good meeting place since Charlotte was going to spend some time with Steven that evening. "Have fun with Daddy and Papa, Mama."

"I will, honey," Charlotte knelt down and gave him a kiss on his forehead. "Just have Auntie Layla give me a call if he need me, okay?" Coltin nodded. "Okay. I love you, baby."

"I love you too," Coltin hugged his Mom before grabbing onto Layla's hand.

"Bye-bye, lad," Steven smiled. Coltin looked up at Steven and gave him a wave before he and Layla turned and began walking down the alley and turned the corner down the street. Steven's smile faded.

"It's okay, Steven," Charlotte placed a hand on his shoulder. "Everything will be fine, and he'll warm up to you guys again."

"Fuck that stupid bird," Marc grumbled before turning and making his into the building and up to Steven's flat. Charlotte followed behind him.

"Oh jeez," Charlotte checked her phone when she felt it buzz in her pocket. "Another text from Kyle." She and Marc made their way into the flat and closed the door behind them.

"Block his number," Marc stated.

"I thought I did," Charlotte messed around on her phone before putting it down on the kitchen counter. "There, it's done." Marc smiled with a chuckle. He looked around Steven's fridge and found the wine he had picked up at the store. "So... was this your idea to invite me over to stay the night, or was it Steven's?" Marc poured two glasses of wine, handing one to Charlotte. She took a sip and stared at him, waiting for an answer.

"If you must know why you were invite to stay the night, it was mainly to keep an eye on and make sure that creep doesn't try and sneak into your hotel room," Marc answered, taking a sip from his glass. "That part was my idea."

"Part?" Charlotte gave a confused smile. "There were multiple parts to this?"

"Well, yeah," Marc stated, almost as if it should be obvious. "After what happened the other day at the museum between you... and -" Marc smiled with a sip from his glass.

"What are you getting at, Spector?" Charlotte asked.

"Come on, Charlotte, don't play dumb," Marc rolled his eyes. "After we hugged... and after Steven hugged you back. I was there, I saw exactly what happened. And I saw the way you looked at me... the way you looked at him."

"Marc, I have a feeling I know what you're trying to tell me," Charlotte gave him a smug look, setting her glass back down on the counter.

"Do you actually?" Marc raised an eyebrow.

"I think I do," Charlotte moved closer to him. "I think you want me back."

"Me?" Marc furrowed his eyebrows.

"Of course, I totally understand. I feel the same way," Charlotte confessed. "I'm sure being here, and being in your life again has probably resurfaced some feelings that you had pushed down and forgotten about years ago." Marc raised his eyebrows.

Wait - no.

"I know for me at least, seeing you here has definitely affected me in a way that I never thought it would. Seeing you Coltin has only made me realize and remember that man I fell in love with all of those years ago... but -"
