season 1, episode 1 pt. 2
Charlotte studied herself closely in the mirror. She had on a black skirt, with black tights underneath it, a maroon turtleneck paired with a black leather jacket, and her doc martens. She looked like a basic pinterest girl, but she didn't care. Her hair was straight as usual and she had some mascara and lipgloss applied to her face. She looked like she normally did minus the outfit. So, why was she so nervous about this. It's not like she had anyone ask her to go or anything.
The brunette was dragged from her thoughts when Riley came from behind her and said loudly, "You look hot" Charlotte looked behind her reflection in the mirror to find her fiery red haired best friend. She softly smiled at the girl.
"You do too, Ri" Riley lightly blushed and walked to her bed before plopping on it.
"What do you plan on doing tonight?" Riley asks. Charlotte furrows her eyebrows.
"I thought we were going to hang out" Riley's eyes widened at Charlotte's words.
"i- uh- i thought-" Riley stuttered out. Charlotte cut her off. "What did you do?" Riley innocently smiles.
"I might've ran into a certain gorgon who wanted to hang out with you at the festival and so I made plans to hang out with Enid and Wednesday" She says while hiding behind her hands. Charlotte looks at her in disbelief.
"How could you not tell me?" She asks. RIley sighs before explaining. "You went into town when it happened and you were reading all night, I didn't wanna ruin your mood" Charlotte sighs knowing she can't stay mad at RIley. "It's okay" Charlotte sighs out.

Upon arriving at the festival Charlotte was left alone due to Riley running to catch up with Enid and Wednesday. She walked through the grounds just taking everything in. She had always liked festivals and going to Jericho. It made her feel normal for a change.
She walked up to a cotton candy booth and stood in line. She sighed not really liking the feeling of being alone right now. The line quickly went down and she soon had her pink and blue cotton candy bucket open and eating it.
"You care to share that?" She heard a voice behind her say. Not even having to turn around to detect its owner. She turned around to see Ajax with a small smile on his face. She didn't say anything just held the bucket out and watched him take some. He made his way to her side. Charlotte refrained from jolting away from him whenever their arms brushed. She could already feel the goosebumps start at the location and spread throughout her arm.
Damn it.
She could feel his eyes on her, but she just continued looking forward. Dreading this moment. Not that she didn't enjoy the company, but because of the past and feelings that were basically tugging at her to give in. Ajax on the other hand, was loving this. It was the most contact and time they had shared in 6 months. He just stood there with adoration in his eyes while watching her. He knew she was nervous, but so was he.
