season 1, episode 8 pt. 1

Charlotte Thorpe lay on her bed, sobbing into her stuffed animal that Xavier had gotten her when they were kids. She had been in the same spot ever since she found out her brother was accused for murder. She was angry at Wednesday, but mostly she was sad. Riley and Ajax had tried to talk to her only for the girl to not even acknowledge their presence.

Charlotte's throat hurt from trying to cry silently, and her body shook from the struggle. She felt absolutely hopeless. Nothing was more important to her than Xavier and now he is gone. All the times Xavier had stepped into the role of taking care of her when their father didn't even bother. He was basically the only family she had.

Charlotte decided that she should go and try to see her brother. So, her she was walking the streets of Jericho with puffy, red eyes and a slumped posture. She made her way to the Sheriff station and sighed sadly before opening the door. Her heavy feet took her to the person at the front desk.

The woman smiled at her. "What can I do for you?" She politely asks. Charlotte sniffles and swallows due to the dryness in her throat. "Um, I'm here to see if I can, um, speak to my" She pauses and takes a deep breath trying not to cry. Her eyes and nose burn from the tears building. "Um, my brother" She finally says while her voice cracks.

"What's his name?" The woman asks. Charlotte feels a tear fall down her cheek and she quickly wipes it away.

"X-Xavier Thorpe" She stutters out. The woman gives Charlotte a sympathetic look.

"I'm sorry, but he's not allowed to see anyone" Charlotte bites her lip to stop the sobs from escaping her mouth. She simply nods and tiredly walks out of the building.

She decides to get herself a coffee at the Weathervane. She slowly opened the door and trudged her way to the counter.

Tyler who was behind the counter took note of the girl's appearance and was confused. She always presented herself as happy, but she looked sad and overall exhausted.

"The usual?" He asks. Charlotte tiredly nods. Her eyes looked like they were somewhere far away. Like she was in another universe, but she could still respond to what was happening around her.

Tyler got done with her coffee quickly and led Charlotte to sit down. He plopped himself across from her and watched her carefully.

"You wanna tell me what's wrong?" He asked. Charlotte didn't miss the slight commanding tone he used, but for now she chose to ignore it.
