How easy was it to remember a face, to remember a voice? How lucky was it to meet a stranger once, then seeing them again later?
Perhaps it was destiny for them to meet.
---
A lone individual walked through the rainy Ninjago City streets, uncaring to the weather around them. The sounds of the pitter patter of water droplets hitting cement was music to their ears, making them sigh in satisfaction as they continued their steady pace.
They sniffled, raising their soaked sleeved arm in an attempt to wipe the tears from their cheek before realizing its uselessness. Their whole body and clothing had been drenched from the water, so what exactly would they be drying at this point?
The streets had been empty, save for a few citizens speeding their way to their destinations with umbrellas and raincoats. The individual kept their head down in attempt to wash away their emotions, but their eyes kept spilling and spilling tears.
I'd take this than going back any day.
Before they could allow their thoughts to take over, someone had turned the corner quickly and before they could react, had crashed into the lone person.
The soaked one fell to the ground from the impact, thinking that they had ran into a wall instead by the sheer force they felt. While the rushed individual had only dropped his bag of groceries on the puddly sidewalk.
He gasped, immediately feeling guilt by causing pain to a citizen, let alone one that seemed to not have been having the best day, he noted. He leaned over to the person, making sure his umbrella had been covering their form before lending a hand.
"My sincere apologies, I had not been paying attention to my surroundings," he apologized.
The individual slowly recovered from their fall, feeling the pain ease from where they had felt. Still on the ground, they had looked at the hand that was offered to them then slowly raised their gaze to whose arm it belonged to.
What gazed back at them was a face full of concern, blue eyes piercing into their soul with such emotion, such regret. Immediately they felt intimidated by the sudden attention let alone such eyes that could see through their entire being.
Noticing their silence, the man instead kneeled in front of them, now holding the umbrella out so that it could cover them both as best he could angle it. From here, he was able to have a full view of the individual in front of him.
He had never before seen such beautiful eyes.
Which made him feel worse about the situation now seeing that those eyes had a slight puff and pink hue to them. He had probably hurt them pretty bad with that crash, sometimes he forgets that he's not as soft as a human. He reached out hesitantly, thinking as though any sudden movement from him now would only further the fragile person in front of him.
"Are you hurt? I sometimes underestimate my sturdiness. Please, forgive me," he spoke softly.
They studied his face. Thick, furrowed eyebrows. Short, blond hair. Broad shoulders, nice build. Bright blue eyes.
His voice was as soft as a warm blanket, one that they could really need right now. They had never before such a beautiful voice.
They cleared their throat as they felt heat rising to their cheeks in what they choose to believe is embarrassment.
"Ah... No, I'm not hurt," they replied timidly. "I hadn't been looking either. It wasn't your fault."
He nodded. "Well, in that case... May I ask why you're out in this weather without protective clothing?"
