I'm Opening up

Shelby laid awake in her bed, she barely slept that night as the dark thoughts kept coming back over and over again. She tried forgetting but they would keep coming back, she hid herself until her blanket. Quiana was in the living room and she stared at the door that lead to Shelbys room, waiting for her to come out.

Quiana gave a concerned look as she stared at the door. She walked over to the door and leaned her ear against the door, she was about to knock on the door but before she could do so, the door open and was greeted with a tired looking Shelby in front of her. Quiana was surprised at the unexpected appearance in front of her.

"Hi" Shelby said quietly and slowly walked to the front door, Quiana seemed confused "Uh, where are you heading off to?" She asked. Shelby turned to look at Quiana "I'm just gonna go on a bit of a walk" she explained in a monotone voice.

Shelby didn't even wait for a response and left. She walked into a forest like area, Shelby was hugging herself wanting the dark thoughts to go away "Why won't they just go away?"

"Why won't what go away" a voice suddenly asked from behind, causing Shelby to jump. She turned around and once again finds Itto "Oh, it's you" she muttered, Itto chuckled with a smile "Seems like you and I just keep bumping into each other" he said loudly, Shelby just gave an upset expression and sigh "Really seems like it" she groaned.

"So what brings you here today" he asked, Shelby tried her best to keep herself together and brush off the thoughts even when they keep coming back "I was just going on a walk here" she attempted to say.

Itto gave a curious look "Well, this area is a nice place to take a walk" he said with a small smile. Shelby continued to stare at the grass on the ground "Yeah, I guess you're right about that" Shelby quickly agreed. She wanted to be alone as possible as she felt she was about to break down as soon as possible.

Shelby started walking away slowly "S-see you next time" she said sounding like she's on the verge of tears, eventually her legs felt weak and she fell to her knees and sat on her heels. Itto immediately noticed and quickly kneeled in front of her "Shelbs?" He exclaimed he then noticed something wrong. She had a depressed look on her face, she was looking on the ground and had a shadow over her eyes "What's wrong? Are you okay" he asked in full concern. Shelby snapped out of her trance, and was about to say her usual 'I'm fine. You don't need to worry about me' but the dark thoughts got so bad, it was to the point where she couldn't take it anymore she had to let it out.

"Why are you always hang out with me? Why do you bother being around me?" she asked, Itto noticed that the way she asked her question was a little shaky "What do you mean?" Itto asked getting in serious mode, Shelby takes a shaky breath "Why? I don't get why anyone would waste their time with someone like me. I'm just terrible to anyone I meet. I don't even get why Quiana or Talia is wasting their time with me. It's like what everyone called me my whole life" Shelby places her hands on the sides of her head and clutches her hair "I'm just a cursed child who only brings harm to everyone around me. I'm a monster who is hated by everyone. So, why waste your breath with someone like me? Why?" She then realizes everything she just blurted out and sighed "Why am I even telling you all of this? It's not like you'll even care" she whispered the last part.

She begins to tear up and lightly sob. She sits there in silence until feels someone gently hold both her hands, and sees Itto with a serious look on his face "Listen, I meant it when I said that I don't believe it when they say you are a cursed child. You are better than that, I always want to hang out with you and be around you because I lo-" he stops himself for a moment "Because I see that you are someone worth being friends with. You are not a monster in any way, shape, or form. And I mean it when I say it"
