"Hey, hun" Kim stood up and pulled Phoebe into a hug as she arrived at the restaurant Kim had chosen for the two of them and was taken by the waiter to the table Kim was already sitting at.
"hey, how are you?" Phoebe smiled at her best friend before sitting down. "great. It's relaxing to be back in the university life and to see all your friends again. And now that you're in Cincy too" Kim gushed sighing.
"and you? How were the first few days at UC?" she asked afterwards, looking curiously at Phoebe. "Really good. The campus is awesome and the people studying with me, oh, really great. Made some new friends already" Phoebe grinned.
"Hey, don't you dare replace me" laughing Kim nudged her over the table. Phoebe joined in her laughter. "Never, I promise" she grinned before opening the menu and studying the food.
Everything sounded really good, which didn't surprise Phoebe. Kim loved trying new restaurants and dragging Phoebe along to the best ones whenever she did, so the two of them had certainly eaten their way through every really good restaurant in Cincy.
"What happened to that Luca guy who asked you out for coffee after the first class? Anything more happen in the meantime?" Kim looked at Phoebe over the top of her card and wiggled her eyebrows with a grin.
"Kimberly, I've known him for three days, plus he has football season to focus on. So I won't be seeing him as regularly soon" Phoebe shrugged.
"I don't mean to say anything, but you have been fine with less than three days" Kim mumbled as she slammed her card shut and got an indignant look from Phoebe. "I'm just saying" innocently Kim raised her arms.
When the waiter came over they both ordered their food before continuing to chat. "And between Will and you? Are you okay?" Phoebe asked, taking a sip from her water glass.
After the non-stop making out at Phoebe and Tris' housewarming party, Kim had brought up their relationship, following Phoebe's advice, which had escalated quite a bit. The two broke up again after that, Kim had taken it pretty well, saying she was sick of their childish relationship, until not even a week later Will had apologized with a big speech and a bunch of flowers and the two got back together.
Of course, Will had assured her he saw a future in the relationship and if they both worked on themselves, they would make it work this time.
Phoebe would probably need the hands of the entire Bengals team to count how many times she'd heard that phrase come out of Will's mouth, but Kim was overjoyed again for at least a few weeks, and that was the important thing.
"Oh we're great. He even sits with me on breaks now and then. Comes halfway across campus just to see me" Kim sighed dreamily. "What a gentleman" Phoebe mumbled rather ironically, but the smile Kim wore on her face showed that this was quite a romantic gesture for her.
Their food arrived and the two women held a casual conversation as they gleefully ate the very delicious meal. Phoebe's Wild Mushroom Ravioli with a vodka tomato sauce was so incredibly good that she was almost sad when her plate was empty.
The two ordered tiramisus for dessert plus more wine as they relaxed back in their chairs. Phoebe was tossing her hair back over her shoulder and tugging her top into place when Kim's jaw suddenly dropped open and she leaned across the table toward Phoebe.
"Oh my God, what is that?" she pulled Phoebe's top down a bit on the right side of her cleavage. "Where did you get a hickey on your boob? Who...who did that?" Kim stared in surprise at the exposed purple-blue spot on Phoebe's skin.
"Kim, stop" Phoebe slapped her friend's hand, which kept pulling Phoebe's top down, only to expose more and more of the hickies Joe had given her the last time they met, which were all over her breasts in every color.
