Fastlane was live tonight and the match card has come and gone such as the Visionary Seth Rollins retaining his United States Championship against Bobby Lashley, the Usos still maintaining their tag team title reign after defeating the New Day in a hard fought match and the Ring General Gunther retaining his Intercontinental title against Ricochet.
Now all eyes turned to the main event of the match as The Miz will defend his WWE Championship against his arch nemesis Alex Auditore after weeks of dodging his challenge. The stipulation for the match was a regular one on one match, but with a special guest referee hired and paid by the champion himself.
The theme of the Philippine Pharaoh played and Alex walked out with a laser focused look like the Bloodline's Solo Sikoa while RK-Bro and Alexa were hyping him up. Auditore got in the ring and was cracking his knuckles and did some shadow boxing as he will finally get his hands on the slimy WWE Champion.
Then The Miz's theme played and the egotistical WWE Champion walked out with an arrogant smirk on his face while his wife Maryse along with Morrison and Ziggler accompanied the champion to the ring. Alex stared daggers at The Miz while the A-Lister can't help but smirk as he knew who the special guest referee is.
WWE Hall of Famer and legendary commentator Jim Ross was at ringside being his signature and iconic self.
JR: oh business is about to pick up tonight, ladies and gentlemen. I hope to God Alex Auditore will whoop The Miz's ass like a government mule. Miz kept running away like a scolded dog. I hope to God that son of a bitch Miz will no longer be champion after tonight. Bring out your referee, you idiot!
The Miz grabbed a mic while he held his title.
Miz: ladies and gentlemen, for tonight's main event there will be a special guest referee, and do not worry, he said he will call this match down the middle, so it will be even on both sides. Ladies and gentlemen, your special guest referee!
After a few seconds of silence, a song from the 2000s played and to the shock of Alexa and the chagrin of Alex, the referee was none other than Miz's friend and Alexa's ex-fiance, the out of tone 2000s musician Ryan Cabrera. Ryan wore the referee stripes and got in the ring to shake hands with the champion while Alex stared down, but didn't care that the stacks were against him. Even JR wasn't too happy about it.
JR: oh son of a bitch, Miz has his own personal referee to turn the contest in his favor, this will not look good

Right from the opening bell, Alex launched a flurry of punches on The Miz, cornering him in the turnbuckle, but the onslaught didn't last as special referee Cabrera pulled Auditore away, the Pharaoh wasn't too happy about it.
Alex: don't touch me, asshole!
Then the Pharaoh went back to punching Miz in the corner, until the champion was down and had to roll out of the ring to catch his breath. Alex went to pursue him, but Ryan held him back, Alex really wanted to punch the crooked referee in the face, but didn't want to risk a disqualification loss and instead flipped Ryan off with the middle finger, Stone Cold style.
After Miz catch his breath, he went back inside the ring and continued on with the match. As Alex went for a shot, Miz ducked and went for a roll up pin while Ryan counted quick, but Alex managed to kick out before three, Alex was getting agitated as Miz and Ryan were obvious in cahoots with each other. With no other option, Alex unleashed all his fury as he knocked down Miz with a hard lariat.
Alex: get up, Mizanin!
Alex waited Miz to get up, and as he turned around, the challenger took down Miz with a superkick. But as he went for the cover, Ryan counted slow, which gave Miz time to kick out, much to the irritation of Alex. Having enough of the referee's antics, Alex grabbed Ryan by the referee shirt and raised his fist while the crowd and even JR were cheering loud.
JR: do it Alex! Do it! Hit that son of a bitch in the face! Hit him! Hit him! Punch him Alex!
Alex: say goodbye to your career, Cabrera!
But as Alex was about to punch Ryan, Miz came from behind and nailed the Pharaoh with the Skull Crushing Finale, but as Miz went for the quick pin, Alex still managed to kick out at 2.99 seconds, much to the shock of Miz and Ryan. Alex was on his back, but showed signs of life as he flipped the middle fingers on the terrible twosome.
(Fast forward)
Alex got himself up using the ropes, and ducked an incoming punch and hits the AKO on the champion. The Pharaoh went for the pin, but Ryan counted slow which allowed Maryse to put her husband's foot on the ropes, making the referee break the count. Alexa has had enough of the Miztourage's antics as she attacked Maryse while the men held the ladies back, igniting a catfight at ringside.
JR: Alexa is kicking that Jezebel's ass all over at ringside while RK-Bro and The Miz's stooges are trying to separate the two women while the WWE Championship match is still ongoing
(End of match)
Alex was measuring Miz for another AKO while Ryan was trying to get Alexa's attention at ringside. The Pharaoh saw what was going on and confronted the crooked guest referee.
Alex: what the fuck you think you're doing?
Ryan: relax, I'm just saying hi to an old friend
Alex: stay away from her, asshole
However, the distraction was an open window for Miz to sneak up from behind and roll up Alex for the quick count from Ryan while the Pharaoh still kicked out, but it was over.
JR: oh son of a bitch! This is bullshit! Alex got screwed thanks to that crooked unofficial referee and Miz is still WWE Champion
Alex was livid that he went to grab a steel chair at ringside and got in the ring with it, but Miz and Ryan got out and escaped, then the Pharaoh saw Ziggler in the ring and hit the Showoff right in the head with the steel chair. Alex had a fury look in his eyes as he hit Ziggler over and over with the chair onto his back as he got screwed by the roll up fast count. Alex slithered down and picked up Ziggler by his hair and hits the AKO right on the chair.
Alex: I'm gonna kill you, asshole!
But just as The Miz was gonna go and celebrate, the current head of creative Triple H appeared on the tron.
Triple H: now Miz, congratulations that you are still WWE Champion, and I'm just here to announce some news regarding WrestleMania. The good news is Miz, you'll be the main event at WrestleMania, but the bad news is, you'll main event WrestleMania with the man you just screwed with your personal stooge of a referee, Alex Auditore
Alex smirked as he will get another shot at The Miz.
Triple H: the match will be however you like, you two will pick the stipulations in two matches in the coming weeks
The two matches the Game announced will decide by the winners. The two matches that will be in the future episodes of Raw are:
Matt Riddle vs. The Miz
Alex Auditore vs. Dolph Ziggler
The winners of each match will pick the stipulations to add for the WWE Championship match at WrestleMania. Alex may not walk out of Fastlane as champion, but his legit feud with Miz is far from over.
