Chapter 1

She was sitting at her usual lunch room table, hiding her face in her seemingly infinite amount of golden blonde hair while sketching in her scarlet notebook. She had this longing, empty pain in her gut, as if a nagging instinct burning away at her sanity, hell if she were to keep rambling on about her sloppily done "depressed" poems she'd have forgotten all about the dissipating red hand print from this morning on her cheek. She could hear the echoing shatter of the plate from just mere hours ago as the scene replayed in her mind when the stout kid across from her noticed how dazed she appeared to be. As usual she never even had a clue of this casual class skipper's scheme while sharp frequencies of Lavender town had stung in her ears with an addicting low ringing forming in midst the sounds. At the moment her eyes were locked on her scarlet sketch book which was filled to the brim with her many fine sketches of the fabled hylian hero as foretold in the popular nintendo franchise "The Legend of Zelda" which currently she decided to skim through and edit. She brushed her silky soft hair behind her right ear and gently removed her ear bud to listen to the bustling lunchroom, her eyes had sunken to a hazy blue since their hazel glint from that morning. He had dark polished wooden brown looking eyes, sloppily brushed and gelled short spikes of hair and the usual "Middle school trash look" Popularly adorned with the most expensive of shoes and officialist if Jordan's merch. Daniel Reggons, short semi portly kid with a real talent for harassing just about every girl on compass with irritable pick up lines, however this fellow was known to be quite the picky type seeing as though Bella wasn't the kind he was used to dealing with, like a quarter of the school was. His dull frown hardened into a nasty scowl, opening his mouth to speak after their brief eye contact. "What's the matter Bella, you done fantasizing about elf dick yet?" Oh how she yearned to pop him square in the nose, just how satisfying would it be to watch the blood flow from this boy's nostrils as everyone gathers. Wouldn't it be nice if that'd teach this bustling lunch room how not to treat Bella Swells.

Aggravated, Bella bundled up her headphones then stuffed them in her pocket as The girl next to her giggled with a snooty smile. Swells opens her mouth with a few cautious words, she was grateful for her education and fighting would kick her straight into a tough position for keeping those rough A's of hers. "You know very well just about every female on compass fight the urge regurgitate in a thirty mile radius of you." Daniel scoffs and gets up with a slam of his sneakers, whipping around the side of the table to face her. In her current sitting position he towered over her, and her hands instinctively snatch and stuff her priceless journal into her Sburb designed messenger bag, curtesy of herself. She'd love to ramble on about her creation if wasn't for Reggon's clenched fists and the tensing lunch table. "Say it again twat." He growled out. "I'd love to if wasn't for the nauseating aroma of your god awful body odor." This was perhaps the strongest moment she's ever stood up for herself, yes she could fight but with her fragile frame it was quite difficult to outmatch his strength. Bella had always been a quiet "shrug it off" type, but today there was something about missing breakfast and chipping her favorite pair of ceramic Gamzee horns that caused her day to start off rough, let's not forget her earlier incident. He raises a tanned arm in a loading position. The strong cologne made her wrinkle her nose before he suddenly shoved her off the bench rather than land a blow to the side of her fave. Bella looked down at her green skirt, she grits her teeth and scoots backwards to stand up, patting down the skirt immediately after to keep from prying eyes. Even though the entire crowd of adolescents had their eyes on her as they murmured with gossip. Bella's hardening sapphire eyes glinted before she turns to stomp off, her bag close at her side as the Seer of Light charm jingles as if an arrow piercing through the misty night of unclear sound. She's stopped to look up at Mrs. Lore, the school's guidance councilor. "Come now honey, I'd like to have a word with you in my office. Don't fret, the grounds keeper has radioed the principle to deal with him for now." Mrs. Lore's soothing voice instantly calmed her as she stood up and followed her through the dimly lit halls and along the concrete which currently had been under a fierce infestation of plants and weeds until they reached her office. Bella slowly walked inside of the cubical-like space, appreciating the cool blow of the newly-installed air conditioner in the school as her hair gently blew back from her face, revealing her little blue eyes. "Yes Mrs. Lore?" Her voice barely audible through her hushed tone as she looked up innocently, her right hand crossing under her little chest to grab her elbow. Bella pulled her hair over the staining red mark that followed her into school that morning. This was perhaps the most hostile she'd ever gotten, thinking back, Bella was a very strange girl when it came to personality, never starting conversations unless required of her or she felt comfortable with the person, yet there was always the rare occasion of a new insult thrown her way, either taken to the heart, ignored, or returned with a snappy remark.

"I heard rumors your father suffers from heavy intoxication, thus hurting those around him, Bella is this true?" Mrs. Lore's voice was serious, more serious then Bella had ever remembered her being. Bella knew matters would only get worse if she were to tell Mrs. Lore. So she shook her head, accidentally letting her hair slightly shift from her right cheek, exposing the dimming hand mark, it was a pale pink imprint of a hand much too big for that of another student. Mrs. Lore's delicate hands gently touched her cheeks. "What happened here?" Bella was reluctant to give in, she just gently pushed Mrs. Lore's hands from her cheeks. "Im going to be late for forth hour." Bella kept her head down, her gaze focusing on the cerulean blue and powder white tiles. "Bella, im going to have a word with your father. This not only concerns you but your education as well. I'll write you a pass to your next hour." Bella's heart sunk, and she swallowed hard from the lump in her throat. "Please don't Mrs. Lore, he'a getting better, honestly." Her voiced shakes from the thought of her father's aggressive drunken rampages. But Mrs. Lore's decision was clear. Defeated, Bella shuffled out of the class room, fighting to hold back her tears as she mumbled a few distressed words to herself. "Wish I could just lock him in the fridge to drink his heart out.."
