When the Nyrilorns warriors finally turn 1000 years old, they have to forge and enchant their own magical weapon. So they had to go and get the different materials scattered throughout the 7 kingdoms and bring them back to the arcanic forge in order to make the weapon. And it was time for Eldarion and Kirliata to pass these tests in order to fully integrate the Nyrilorn armies.
However, a third person was also introduced to this ordeal. This person had nothing alike a nyrilorn, and seemed to be a simple minimoy as tall as them. This minimoy was called Maltazard the Magnificent and had been sent to the fourth kingdom by King Sifrat de Matradoy of the first kingdom, in order to reward him for the achievements and services rendered in his name. The archangel Argel'Tal has always maintained a strong fraternal bond with the royal family of the first kingdom, and if they felt that one of their own was worthy to become their champion, they sent him to the city of Batilga to receive an object there that would be the symbol of his new status.
Before the pilgrimage of the three aspirants began, the matriarch Velidia, who was the responsible coach of Eldarion and Kirliata, offered to each one of them a spiritual pearl being related to the spirit of one or more deceased loved ones and that would be the central element of their future magical weapon. The matriarch explained to them that this pearl would allow them to commune with the spirits linked to their pearl, so that they could give them advice and comfort. Also, these spirits had the ability to judge people and determine if they were worthy to wield a magical weapon according to their criteria.
The choice of the magic weapon to be forged was decided according to the preferences of Eldarion, Kirliata and Maltazard. Thus, Eldarion received a list of materials needed to forge a magic hammer. Kirliata received the same list for a large magic axe and Maltazard for a magic sword. Now that they have their spiritual pearl and their list of materials in their possession, the 3 comrades left the city of Batilga to begin their pilgrimage.
