Once the Nyrilorns were made aware of Maltazard’s betrayal, the archangel Argel'Tal knew he was going to raise an invading army to conquer the seven kingdoms. She also knew that Maltazard was not an idiot, and that the Nyrilorns would pose too great a threat to her evil plans and future plans. Aware of this truth, she suspected that Maltazard would send all his armies to attack Batilga, and that the poisonous woman who had corrupted him would surely participate in the battle to come alongside her new pawn.
That is why she considered the elimination of Maltazard and Tarantula as the absolute priority: once deprived of leaders, the enemy armies would lose all cohesion and would be broken immediately, thus avoiding unnecessary losses to the nyrilorns. So she summoned all her military officers and explained her defense plan to them. Matriarchs, patriarchs and autarch, all had their ears open.
Here is the plan: the fire-support companies would position themselves at the ramparts of Batilga and would take care of the bulk of the armies of seides by bombarding them with spells and arcane projectiles. Once Maltazard’s armies were sufficiently weakened, the assault companies would take over and leave the city and progress towards Maltazard and Tarantula while eliminating the soldiers who would oppose them.
Eldarion listened attentively, storing every detail and information. He knew that if they failed, the city of Batilga could be lost, leading to the fall of the fourth kingdom and leaving all other kingdoms vulnerable to the attacks of their enemies. Failure was not an option. For the future of the seven kingdoms to be assured, for his future alongside his beloved Kirliata to be assured, this plan had to work.
