It was late. Everyone was asleep. Out like a light. Despite being vampires and having the routine they had, there was nothing much happening in the Mikaelson Household tonight except for catching up on a lot of deserved sleep.

Hayley Marshall on the other hand, was wide awake. Maybe it was the fact that her supernatural form didn't require her to sleep. Or it was the fact that she just couldn't get her eyes to stay shut.

Finally, she got up. Attempting to be very quiet, not to wake anyone up, she tiptoed out of her room. Hayley then peeped out from her doorway.

Complete silence. Not a person in sight. Sweet. She thought.

Maybe the peace and quiet would do her some good. Think some things through. Things that had been buzzing, speeding and crashing about in her mind like paper planes.

She went down the outdoor stairs and to the open lobby.

Just what the hybrid needed. Some fresh air. She stood in the middle of the lobby for a minute. Looking around. The night sky above her.

For some odd reason ... it reminded her of another night. A less peaceful and very chaotic night to remember. But there had been this ... this moment.

"I wanna believe that this baby means something to you. I wanna believe in you." Hayley softly explained.

Klaus looked at her with a gentle and understanding expression.

"Don't... let us down." She said. Touching her pregnant stomach.

Hayley closed her eyes. Remembering that moment. And he hadn't. He had surpassed her expectations.

Sure, his reaction to the pregnancy was... downright horrible and very unwelcoming... but it was also expected.

Still, very unjustifiable but looking back, Hayley thinks that she'd be fucking terrified too.

But Klaus...

No matter how scared and angry he must've been...(and projecting that fear into anger) he'd learned to realise that he did love his daughter and he had shown that time and time again. Not because he had to prove something. But because he genuinely cared.

Hayley inadvertently smiled. It was one of the many things she had come to admire about him.

As strange as it sounds.

She then proceeded to help herself to a drink. In her defence, it had been a long day.

Hayley decided to have her drink up on the balcony. It would be calming and quiet. She went up the stairs and made her way to the outdoor porch.

She took in a breath. This felt nice. The brunette gazed out the balcony ... and eventually began pondering about everything.

From coming to New Orleans to battling old and new enemies to watching her daughter be able to grow up amidst the chaos.

"Having some late night helpings, are we?" She heard a sassy voice from behind her, remark.

She looked back, coming back from her thoughts. "Klaus."

"Hello, love. You don't seem to be in any mood to sleep. Highly contrasting to everyone present in the establishment who quite frankly, are sleeping like dogs." He said, emerging from the shadows. His face eventually, illuminated.

Hayley let out a chuckle. "Yeah, it's just ... I couldn't really sleep so, I just decided to get a drink and some peace and quiet."

"Ahh, I see. Well, I do hope I'm not interfering with the 'peace' or the 'quiet' part of your little escapade." He says, making quotations with his hands.
