TV:
...Thanks Carol, now to Paul for the weather and it looks like we're about to get a taste of summer early this year in the Indianapolis area--

*The screen switched over to a man standing in front of a local map that showed the small town of Eastfield and the surrounding cities in the state.*

PAUL (On the TV):
That's right, our Doppler 13 radar is tracking a massive low-pressure system making its way across the midwestern United States, a line of thunderstorms stretching all the way from Sioux Falls and just past the Kansas state line, as it reaches the doorsteps of Omaha, Nebraska, and will be coming through our area around ten-ten-thirty tonight. Although the storm is expected to weaken some by the time it gets to us, always remember that with thunderstorms, there is always the risk of tornado activity as well as hail and wind gusts--

TAMARA:
At least the thunderstorms break up the straight rain we've been having mostly this month...

*Nicholas' wife chuckled amusingly from the kitchen.*

NICHOLAS:
Don't we know it...

*He chuckled in reply to her from the couch before he glanced down at his pocket. It wasn't usual for the man to try and sneak the toon out of the study often nowadays, but after their discussion that afternoon, he thought perhaps they needed more bonding time here and there, even if it was in doing the mundane matters like watching the news. His hand pet the pocket of his shirt, seeing a nervous teen biting his lip and watching the screen with wide eyes; his small fingers curled into the fabric. Nicholas kept his voice low; Tamara was still oblivious to the toon after all these years.*

It shouldn't be too bad, bud... You heard the weather guy; they're supposed to weaken before they get here.

MCGEE:
*His teeth were clenched, watching the monitor showing the storm cells with fear.*

They always say that but it never tends to be true!

*His eyes went to the window, seeing clouds gathering slowly on the horizon outside the curtains.*

NICHOLAS:
*His eyes followed his friends, shaking his head.*

Those are regular old rain clouds, bud. The storm won't be here for another--

*He checked his watch.*

--two hours from now. Besides, you heard the guy, the suckers in Omaha are getting the worst of it before we get the end trails.

MCGEE:
Since when was getting end trails a good thing?!

*He looked up at his friend before he saw Tamara walking up to them and slid back into the pocket.*

TAMARA:
*She handed Nicholas his evening tea as she took a seat beside her husband.*

 Mumbling to yourself again?

*She chuckled.*

NICHOLAS:
*He took his tea softly into his hands, his wife kissing his cheek.*

Of course. You know me. Wouldn't be a typical day without doing so, heh...

*He tried his best to hide his flushed cheeks behind the rim of his mug.*

TAMARA:
*She petted her dark hair that lay in a long braid over her shoulder.*

That's just my creative love doing what he does best~

*She laid against her husband, watching the radar alongside him.*

Poor Omaha.... that's a dark cell in particular...

*She pointed at the screen before taking a sip of her tea.*

MCGEE:
*He poked his head out, watching as Tamara cuddled up to her husband, his head tilted slightly. He had known the woman for twenty years, but she had no clue that he even existed outside of the drawings Nicholas did. She seemed so nice too; he wondered how things would be, had Tamara known the truth. Maybe then things would be more normal again? He sighed, resting his head against his palm as his eyes fluttered back to the TV, gulping slightly.*
