I have had a very weird relationship with this one. Originally, while I was reading Talons of Power, I hated it XD mostly just because I was a Turtle simp (the best of us were, let's be honest) and I wanted him to be with Kinkajou. Turtlejou was my OTP for a while. However, as time went on, Peril is my new favorite character, and although I still ship her with Clay, Pertle isn't bad.
Pros: They are friends and obviously care a lot about each other. Turtle decided to fly half across the continent with her and even cast an animus spell in her presence, even if he didn't want her to find out. So they are very comfortable around each other. Their relationship isn't one-sided, either, especially because in the book they were never expressed as lovers. Due to this, it isn't out of the realm of possibilities for me that they would end up falling in love. In true honestly, it's probably better than Cleril or Turtlejou because those ships are both mildly one sided.
Cons: It's not canon XD They are only friends in the series. Also, we don't know if Turtle's diamond scales enchant would have made him fireproof, making it kinda hard for them to be together. And I'm not sure if there is an age gap or not. I know that Turtle is 5 in the main series, and personally I headcanon Peril to be an adult, and to me the dragon age of 5 is equal to 15. So an adult and a 15-year-old...?...yeah... Certainly not ideal. However Peril's age is just a headcanon and I believe her to be canonly 7 or 8, and I know dragons age much differently from us people.
Overall, this ship isn't as bad as I used to think it was. I actually began to like it more and more and I wrote this chapter. But still, Cleril will always own my heart XD
