"Summer!"

Despite the multiple calls for her to stop, Summer didn't hesitate to rush to the hallway. Her feet pounded desperately against the floor as she made her way through the base to the barracks for the boys.

The door had already been knocked open and Summer threw herself inside, eyes widly looking around. Bumblebee and Arcee were down, both piled up against the far wall.

"Summer!" Raf ran over to her, his face wet with tears. He launched himself at her and wrapped his arms around her waist.

"Where is Jack and Mr. Kayne?" She asked.

"They're–they're–" Raf choked back a sob before pointing to the row of beds.

She gently let him go and made her way to the bunks, Raf following behind her with a face of horror. Summer's hands flew to her mouth when she saw the small hole in her guardian's head.

What have I done?

She knelt, touching him lightly. His hand was cold and clamy, limp and lifeless.

Dead.

"Jack tried to stop them." Raf whispered. "He's dead too."

Summer looked over at Jack and saw blood running down from a cut on his head.

She could feel him.

He was alive.

"Go get help." Summer whispered.

He didn't hear her, so Summer whirled around and pointed to the doors. "Go get help!"

Raf took a step back before nodding and running away, but he didn't even make it out of the room before the Autobots stormed inside.

Summer grabbed Jack and pulled his head into her lap, allowing tears to cascade down her face.

"Please don't die." She sobbed. "Don't die, Jack, please, please, please don't die."

"Give me space!" Ratchet barked to everyone, who had begun to crowd around them. Miko was wailing in the background, holding on to a terrified Raf. "Someone call Nurse Darby! Where is Agent Fowler?!"

Summer felt his lifeforce began to fade and she screamed, grabbing his head and trying to force his cells into hyperdrive. To give him a greater will to live.

Color returned to his cheeks.

Summer could hear people and bots yelling, she could faintly feel herself being moved, but she kept a tight grip on the male, urging him to fight harder than ever before.

Jack's eyes popped open, immediately looking up into Summer's drowned irises. She breathed out a sigh of relief and finally let June pull them apart.

Someone guided her away from them, but Summer didn't dare move far. Jack slipped in and out of consciousness, but she knew he'd live.

Suddenly, Agent Fowler was standing in front of her, a red-speckled cloth in his hand. She was knocked out of her focus on Jack and looked at him in confusion.

"Hold still." He ordered, pressing it against her head.

"Ew, what are you doing?" Summer reeled back, disgusted by the bloody cloth.

"You're bleeding." Fowler grabbed her neck and pulled her closer so he could press it against her wound.

"But I didn't get hurt." Summer reached up and winced when she touched tender skin on her head.

Fowler frowned. "I know."

Summer, Miko, and Raf were all huddled together in Bumblebee's alternative mode as the scout drove around their base.
