Wednesday had to force herself not to allow a coat of blush to cover her deadly features. She kept her stone-cold, never-ending dauntless expression, however, for once, a look of uncertainty was plastered on her face for just a split second. Usually, Wednesday was quite sure what she was doing was correct. What if this was simply a plight? A massive mistake?
“Salutations, Sinclair.”
Wednesday muttered with a halfway nervous halfway aggravated sigh under her breath. Why was she truly doing this? 'Girls nights out' were never her type of thing, really -- nothing that fit to the classical teenage dirtbag standards was appealing to Wednesday in general, besides being a sarcastic, edgy maniac. That part was rather enjoyable, and played a big part in her overall exterior personality. She adjusted her dress, gulping.
“Heyy, Wens!” Enid replied.
Wednesday frowned, crossing her arms with a sly conniving scowl plastered upon her face. Enid approached her roommate, planting a small kiss on her pale cheek. Wednesday immediately pulled backwards, retracting with widened eyes and a defensive stature, putting her hands up in front of her.
“Let's just go now, Sinclair.”
She said sourly, venom lacing her tone and leaving a crisp ending to her bittersweet sentence. She was halfway appaled at this sudden move, yet, another more distant side of her kind of enjoyed this in a strange type of way? It was difficult to explain in her head. Usually, any type of 'romance' Wednesday avoided like a deathly plague. Relationships were never truly her forté; not at all her area of expertise, that's for sure. She's manipulative and puts other people at risk for her own personal gain. She knew that. But somehow, this felt right. Fully correct, in a way; like her instincts were drawing her to Enid.
The werewolf interlocked her hand with Wednesday's, guiding her out of the room and towards the Café.They soon arrived at the desired destination, hands still intertwined; warm skin meeting freezing cold, the grip getting tighter; mainly due to Enid's superhuman strength, which she hadn't yet learned to fully master -- YET! Eventually it would happen. Eventually. -- Or, rather, that's what she had proclaimed. Wednesday didn't bother protesting as Enid gripped her hand roughly. The bell attached to the door clicked and clanked, making an all-to familiar dinging sound. The door shut behind them with a violent swoosh. They approached the counter, the waitress looking up at the two outsiders with fear shimmering in her eyes. Were the rumors true? Were these weird creatures going to hurt the poor waitress?..
Nope. They were quite peaceful, actually -- Wednesday wasn't threatening to murder someone for once in her life or trying to solve a groundbreaking mystery, which was astonishing &. shocking by itself. Enid guessed that maybe she truly was enjoying this little 'date' of theirs, but she almost second guessed herself.
“Double-cap, no foam, two pumps of sugar-free vanilla. Get it right.” Wednesday said with a stone-cold look gleaming in her assertive gaze. The waitress scribbled down the order down to the dot, fearful of what the consequences may be if the order was incorrect in the end. Next, a cheerful werewolf girl with a bubbly aura spoke up. “I want a donut!” She exclaimed, her tail wagging slightly, her ears perched atop her head.
Eventually, the waitress brought put the orders on a charcoal-black tray; the orders were perfect, which satisfied the two misfits. Enid scarfed down the donut like the police were on her tail, while Wednesday calmly drank her coffee, the energy pumping adrenaline through her very own, pitch-black soul. She sipped it slowly until it was gone, and then she threw the empty plastic cup into the nearby trash bin.
“Come on, Sinclair.” Wednesday ordered, and Enid happily complied. This time, they didn't hold hands...Enid was to afraid to ask. Wednesday seemed to be in a bit of a sour mood for some odd reason. Did they actually get her order wrong..? No -- she drank the entire thing without a second thought. An angry Wednesday would've complained and threatened something..it wasn't that.
Truly, Wednesday was deep in thought; her brain a whirrling shift of little gears working away to process this entire situation, taking in every piece of information she could physically gather from her surroundings. She had seen the town of Jericho time and time again, but..this time? It felt..off, in a way. It perplexed Wednesday, which was quite the rare occurrence on it's own. Either way, they had eventually made it to the gates of Nevermore, where they wandered inside..unknowing to what layed ahead.
