Rose POV
Humming, I sat on the floor in the living room and flipped through the many pages of the photo album with our wedding photos. The photographer had compiled the best photos into this album. But all in all, there were a ton more on a memory stick that I still wanted to go through to pick out more photos. As gifts for the family, the thank you cards and of course to hang up.
The smile was permanently on my lips. It was nice to see this day once again through the photos and the eyes of the photographer. Even if it was only two weeks ago.
I stopped at a particularly beautiful page. It was a photo of Roman and me at our first dance. I could almost hear the music and feel the light breeze on my skin, almost smell the flowers as we moved under the baldachin and all the little lights.
And then on the other page was a photo of Roman proudly dancing with Joelle. It was so cute how she smiled up at her daddy. It was the sweetest thing ever. I couldn't wait to see how our new baby would look at him this way one day. These two pictures definitely made it onto the list of pictures I wanted printed out and enlarged. So did the picture of Waylon and Kingsley grinning with cake smeared faces.
These two... such cheeky little boys, but no one could be mad at them. They both took after their dad so much, especially when it came to charm.
I was munching on the popcorn I had prepared when suddenly I heard the door open. Roman was finally home! Slowly I got up to greet him. I ran up to him and wrapped my arms tightly around his neck.
A contented sigh escaped my husband as he pulled me into his arms and rested his chin on my shoulder.
"Hello baby. How are my wife and our princess?" he wanted to know quietly.
"We are doing very well. We've missed you. But maybe you should wait to name the baby Princess. There's a 50/50 chance it's a boy." I laughed as I pulled back a bit to give him a kiss in greeting.
"Mmmh... We'll see, but I'm telling you, I know it's a girl. Oh are those the pictures?" he replied and then distracted me with this question.
"Oh yeah. Came in this morning. Do you want to look at them or do you want to eat something first? We have a lot of time before we have to go to the doctor. I'm so excited to see the little bean for the first time. I know it's probably not very exciting for you, but still, I'm glad you have time to join me," I said.
"Baby girl... every single ultrasound is something very special. And so exciting. It's really nothing for you to worry about. I'm looking forward to our little miracle and I can't wait to see it either." he replied, giving me a kiss on the nose.

"All right, my dears. Let's see how your little someone is doing, shall we?" the doctor said, squirting the cold gel onto my belly while Roman held my hand tightly and watched what she was doing.
"Awesome." I whispered and felt tears welling up in my eyes when I saw the little blob appear on the screen.
So small and yet so perfect. Roman squeezed my hand to get my attention. I looked up at him and immediately saw that he also had a sparkle in his eye. He was so damn proud. Anyone could see that at first glance.
"We have a healthy and well developed baby here. Rose, you are 10 weeks pregnant. That means your baby's due date is around December 21. Maybe it will even be a little Christmas baby." she said.
"That would definitely be the best Christmas present ever!" said the proud dad.
"Don't count on it, Daddy.... Maybe it'll be a New Year's baby." I joked.
