Roman POV

"Have you packed everything yet? Are you excited?" I asked Jojo on the phone.

It was summer break and Rose and I had planned to take the kids to a nice vacation home for a week.

While waiting for my daughter's answer I went into the bedroom because I had heard a loud, very frustrated growl. Rose wanted to start packing too, but at the moment it didn't sound like it.

"Yes we have almost everything packed. Mom just needs to pack up some of the boys' stuff. How is Rose? What else are you guys doing today?" she wanted to know.

"Well, we're packing too. And then we have an appointment later to see how the baby is doing. Maybe we'll get lucky and find out if it's really a little girl," I replied.

"It's official! I have nothing to wear!" growled Rose to herself.

"Uh... Daddy, can I come with you? Please, please?" I heard my daughter beg.

"Hold on a second, Jojo. Are you okay, baby girl?" I asked, looking around the room.

There were clothes scattered everywhere. A shirt almost hit me in the head as it came flying out of the closet.

"No. Nothing is okay. Nothing fits. I don't know what to wear or what to pack for our vacation." My wife replied, sounding close to tears.

"We can go shopping before our appointment. It's not a problem. Listen.... would you mind if Jojo accompanied us to the doctor's office?" I asked.

"Of course, if she wants to, she can come along. It's her sister or brother, after all." said Rose.

"Okay... Did you hear sweetie? Let me talk to your mom. I have to ask her first if she doesn't have plans for you guys." said I to Jojo.

"That's great! Mom! Daddy wants to talk to you!" she yelled and it wasn't long before I was able to talk to Galina about whether it was okay to take Joelle with us today.

Luckily she had no plans or appointments so it was no problem for Jojo to accompany us. It went without saying that the young lady was very excited. Maybe even more than about the vacation.

When I had sorted everything out I went back to my wife and saw her putting on one of my shirts. Rose looked in the mirror and then turned to the side while pushing the shirt up so that her beautiful, already quite round baby bump was visible. I couldn't help but smile, she was so beautiful.

"You don't exactly make small babies, Mister." she said as she looked at me through the mirror.

"You know me, baby girl.... when I do something, I do it right." I chuckled, walking over to her and putting my hand on her bump.

"You got that right. Alright...let's go pick up your daughter. I can use some feminine advice while shopping." Rose replied and then stretched to give me a kiss.

"Am I not giving good advice?" I asked, a little offended.

"You do, but I don't want Jojo to feel neglected. She's at a difficult age. The twins don't care yet for the most part because they have each other. But little girls, especially daddy's girls get jealous quickly. So I want to include her as much as possible," Rose explained to me.

"I think it's great that you make such an effort with the kids. I know I've said this many times before, but I still think it's amazing. Especially because it's definitely not something you take for granted." I replied as I pulled her close to me.

"Ro... When I married you, I married your children. I want them to accept me as part of the family and know that they can count on me as much as they can count on their mom and you. And I love those three... as much as I love you and our baby. One big happy family." she said as she looked up at me with a happy expression on her face.

------------

"That was very successful, I'd say," I said as I stowed the numerous bags in the trunk.

"True. I just wonder how long these things will fit. After all, I'm not even halfway there yet." replied Rose as she and Joelle got into the car.

"Then we'll just go on another shopping spree. But I think a lot of the clothes will grow with the baby bump," I said.

"Oh the next shopping spree will be for the baby. Right, Jojo?" she replied, turning around so she could look at Jojo in the back seat.

"Right! Fingers crossed we can buy princess stuff!" my girl replied happily.

--------------

"Let's see how the baby is doing. Can you already feel the first movements?" the doctor asked Rose as she lay down on the examination bed.

"No, not really. Maybe a slight flutter. I'm just not sure if it's the baby or if I'm imagining it." replied Rose.

"It will become clearer in the next few weeks, don't worry." the doctor then said.

"All right... Do you want to know what it is?" the doctor wanted to know after a few minutes.

"Yes!" said Joelle loudly before Rose or I had a chance to say anything.

"Yes, we all definitely want to know." said Rose laughing and squeezing my hand.

"Congratulations. It's a little girl!" the doctor replied.

"Oh my gosh. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" cheered Jojo and then gave me an excited high five.

"Looks like you're going to get your wish." said Rose.

I looked at her and saw tears of joy glistening in her beautiful eyes again. Just like every time she saw our baby on the monitor. Our daughter. I leaned over and gave her a kiss.

"Love you..." I then whispered.

"Love you too." my wife breathed as she put her hand to my cheek.
