Roman POV

I carefully poured the scrambled eggs into the frying pan while I heard the boys playing with their cars at the table behind me.

"Good morning, Daddy." said Jojo as she came into the kitchen.

She came over to me and hugged me from the side as I made breakfast for everyone. It was nice to have the kids with us. I missed all three of them very much.

"Good morning, sweetie. Did you sleep well?" I wanted to know.

"I did. Isn't Rose up yet?" asked Jojo as she looked around the kitchen.

"No, I wanted to let her sleep a little longer. She didn't sleep so well last night. But I'm sure she'll join us soon." I replied.

"Is she... Is she sick again?" asked Jojo in complete surprise, sounding very worried.

"No Jojo. Everything is fine. You don't have to worry about Rose, okay? I promise." I explained to my daughter and pulled her reassuringly to me to give her a kiss on her hair.

"Okay." she said, then joined her brothers at the table.

"What do you guys want to drink? Juice or milk?" I asked as I distributed the eggs on the plates I had set out.

"Milk please." said Kingsley and Waylon nodded in agreement.

"I'd rather have orange juice." said Jojo.

I gave the kids their food and then set about pouring the drinks they wanted. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Rose entering the kitchen. She still looked totally sleepy.

"Good morning family. How are you guys this morning?" she asked with a smile.

But then she wrinkled her nose. Her face basically turned green as she ran out of the kitchen and into the bathroom. I guess baby Reigns didn't like the smell of eggs as much as mommy usually did.

"Is she okay? You said Rose wasn't sick!" Joelle said, startled, as I was about to follow Rose to see if she was okay.

"Sweetie, calm down. I promise you that Rose is healthy," I replied and pulled her into my arms to calm her down.

The boys just looked at us questioningly. Luckily they were still too small to notice what was going on. But their sister was obviously very upset. It took me a few minutes to calm her down.

"What's wrong?" asked Rose as she came back into the kitchen.

"Jojo thinks you're sick again. I think it's time to get the presents out." I replied, smirking.

"Oh yeah, I think so too. Why don't you go get them? Then the kids can unwrap them right now. Well, when they're done with breakfast." Rose said as she stood next to me and Jojo and rubbed her shoulders soothingly.

I did what she said and headed to the closet to get the wrapped gifts for the kids. We had just picked them up yesterday because we thought it would be a nice idea to tell the three of them about their new sibling.

"Here. Unwrap this!" I said as I gave each their gift.

The boys quickly tore off the paper, while Jojo looked suspiciously first at me and then at Rose. But finally she too opened the small package.

"Oh my god! We're having a baby?" she asked when she saw first her sweater labeled 'Big Sister' and then the boys' labeled 'Big Brother'.

"Yes, you're getting another brother or sister," I said.

Jojo jumped up and immediately wrapped Rose in her arms. With the boys it needed a little more explanation. I therefore knelt down next to the two and explained to them what was going on. Not that they were particularly interested. After all, they were only 3. But still they grinned and hugged me.

-----------------------

It was a long but wonderful day that we spent with the children. We were in the zoo and then we visited my mother. She didn't know about the baby yet, so we decided together that the kids should tell her.

At first I wanted us to tell her alone. After all, it was the first time for Rose, but she insisted on letting the children do it. Rose and I were sitting on the couch snuggled together when Jojo casually announced the news that she and the boys would soon have a new baby to play with.

I had to say... Mom's expression was totally worth it. I don't think I had ever seen her so caught off guard before. Usually she knew such things beforehand, because she had excellent instincts.

Now it was already the middle of the night. Slowly I turned to the other side when I suddenly heard something. Was it a whisper or was I just imagining it?

"Please be a girl, please be a girl! I want a little sister.... so much. If you can somehow make that happen that would be fantastic." I heard Jojo's voice a little clearer now.

I opened my eyes and in the dim light saw her squatting next to the bed talking to Rose belly. It was adorable. I knew she wanted a sister. It was just as I had imagined. Maybe we were both lucky.

"Jojo? What are you doing? It's the middle of the night." I said quietly so as not to wake Rose.

"I'm trying to convince the baby how great it would be to be a girl." she whispered.

"You Reigns are all the same. Daddy's convinced... it's going to be a girl, sweetie. Come to bed with us and cuddle with your dad. It's late., sweetie...." mumbled Rose anything but awake.

I saw Joelle grinning broadly before she carefully climbed into bed with us.
