March 10th
"So you're going back to work tomorrow?" Eddie asks while he drinks soup out of a mug that Steve had brought him. He was feeling a damn sight better now the antibiotics had done their job.
"Yeah, figure since I've been feeling better for the last day or so it wouldn't be so bad"
"But who's gonna take care of me?" Eddie bats his eyes.
"I mean I don't have to go..." Steve says "Could just tell them you're still super sick and need me here"
"Oh you're definitely still unwell" Eddie chuckles "My Stevie voluntarily missing work? Never"
My Stevie.
Steve smiled fondly and went back to ironing his shirt, he'd been feeling much better over the last couple of days and had actually managed to get some stuff done around his apartment amidst taking care of Eddie.
"I'm kidding, I'm sure I'll be fine while you're gone for a day"
"Call me if you need anything though"
"For sure" He stands up and crosses the room, hugging Steve from behind.
"You okay handsome?"
"Yeah, just like touching you"
Steve hums happily and just lets Eddie hug him as he irons his shirts for the week.
"You want me to iron anything for you?" Eddie snorts.
"I don't think I've ever ironed anything in my life"
"Not even your shirts"
"Stevie, baby, I don't own shirts"
"Not even one?"
"I think I have like one nice one for if I ever need to dress up, but it rarely comes out of the closet"
He kisses Steve's cheek and hooks his chin over his shoulder.
"As much as I like having you attached to my back I gotta shower and get some things ready for tomorrow"
"You mean I can't stay here?"
"I'll come find you in a bit" Steve kissed his nose and detached himself.
March 11th - Thursday
"I'll see you later" Steve kisses Eddie's forehead who's wrapped up in bed watching The Lord Of The Rings. "Call me if you need anything"
"What if I don't need anything? What if I just wanna hear your voice?"
"Sap"
"You love it"
"Maybe" Steve mumbles and a blush dusts his cheeks.
He blows him a kiss from the doorway and Eddie pretends to catch it and smears it down his cheek, Steve rolls his eyes fondly and closes the door.
He heads to work and is greeted with smiles and 'welcome back's from his colleagues as well as a few of the regulars that often sit at the bar.
He found getting back into work easy and although he was reminded by everyone to 'take it easy' he found he wasn't busy enough to be stressed. It was a pretty quiet day thankfully and he found himself idle for a little while so he was helping Chrissy polish and wrap cutlery.
"So how's your first two weeks been? Sorry I was off, Eddie and I got really sick"
"Robin told me! I hope you're feeling better"
