Naerys and Aemond accepted Viserys and his wife into their court without question. She would keep her promise.

A year after Viserys arrived back in King's Landing, his wife gave birth to a son. A cousin for Rhaegar and Visenya.

With his arrival, Aegon was so much happier. He was assured he hadn't killed his brother, he had his sister by his side. And with no obligations on his shoulders, he began to fall in love on his own.

He and Jaehaera married when he reached majority. They married for love, though the council did encourage it. He made her happy after she'd lost so much.

Naerys protected her brothers from all of the people who would wish to manipulate them for power. She protected her children from the same manipulation.

She wasn't so blind in her love for Rhaegar not to prepare him for the Throne. When they were gone, when Aemond and Naerys couldn't lead him, there would be those who yearned to take power from him.

His wife needed to be someone who would support him, not try and take power from him. He needed to know how to rule with strategy and wisdom.

Naerys did her best, as he grew up, to balance the pampering he received with lessons he needed to know.

Aemond and Naerys were known as the Smiths after their reign had ended. They mended the different sides of their Kingdom, rebuilt lost relationships, and worked to restore the House of the Dragon to one united House.

When they were done having children, they ended with four. Another boy they named Baelor and another girl named Lucaera. Many could infer why they chose the name.

All of her children loved to ride on Vermithor. It was one of the only dragons left; Morning wasn't so massive to be able to let them ride. They imagined themselves with a dragon and wished they could have their own. Naerys did too.

Visenya was the opposite of her mother. It wasn't a bad thing and never did Naerys say anything of it. But she enjoyed what the Septa taught her, embroidered, learned music. And she, as expected, was stuck to Aemond's side like glue.

Lucaera, on the other hand, did like to dabble with both embroidery and sword fighting. She liked to try and do it all.

Baelor was enthralled with the art of fighting. He loved to duel his mother and father, even when he knew he couldn't beat them. It was what he did even if he had days off from training.

Rhaegar took his duty as an heir very seriously. He wanted to lead just as his parents had done, continue to keep the Kingdom prospering. The boy listened to the lessons they taught, sat in on the small councils. And when it was time for him to marry, he knew his match had to be politically advantageous.

Naerys could hardly believe her children were growing so fast when Rhaegar was betrothed to Laena Velaryon. Baela and Naerys knew it was a good match, both personally and politically. Targaryens and Velaryons needed to stay close.

And then Aemond came to her, dejected, because Visenya wanted to be married. She had to console him about it, assure him she still loved them.

When she talked to Visenya, she said she wanted to go up North. On their last Royal progress, it had been her favourite place to visit.
