An alarm blared out, awakening Xpel from her peaceful state of staring up at the grey ceiling of her cell.
The sound of the door unlocking brought her eye over to greet the silhouette of her handler standing in the doorway. The outline of his towering broad form, highlighted by the flashing amber lights, caused her to be physically tense as she sat up in an instant, swinging her legs around of her cot and onto the concrete ground.
"Asset, you are to protect the base by all means necessary." Although Xpel could not see the man's face in the dark, she could hear the urgency in his voice. He was afraid of the intruders.
"To your feet soldat. Kill them all." He ordered with a sinister smirk as he stepped to the side, allowing the young girl to leave freely.

Xpel sprinted down the hallway, following the sound of gunfire. The door to the exit was wide open as agents chaotically ran out, firing their guns into the field with no aim or thought. Careless idiots, she thought. She slipped out the door but kept close to the building as she crept around to the left. Never attack head first if you can creep up from the side.
She scanned the open area and saw a group in fancy dress? They looked ridiculous. They were wearing brightly coloured costumes, standing out in the night sky. However, despite their odd choice in combat clothing, they were battering the hydra agents—one by one.
Hydra couldn't lose. This was her home.
Determined, she sprinted round to the side of the group, crouching behind a hydra truck as she glanced up into the sky. A red and gold robot flew around, shooting a laser out of his palm.
Xpel took a deep breath in as her eyes locked on the robot. Raising her hand as she focused, she took control of the flying metal man. Clenching her jaw, she used her powers to force it to move as she wanted; she pushed it toward the flying bird man.
"Stark! Watch out!" The bird man shouted as he swooped quickly out of the way.
"I can't! Something is controlling me!" The robot yelled helplessly as he was pushed again in the bird's direction.
"There's an enhanced on the field?!" The bird man questioned as the metal man suddenly was flung into him; they both fell out of the sky, landing on the floor.
Xpel panted as she attempted to recover any exhaustion from using her powers.
"I have eyes on the enhanced a male voice whispered out from behind her, as she quickly spun round, standing up.
"This doesn't have to end in a fight, kid." The man offered as he cautiously stepped towards the young girl.
What did he mean? Of course, she was going to fight him. He was invading her home. Additionally, the only weapon he carried was a shield; was she worthy of calling herself a hydra soldier if she was to back down from an unarmed fight?
Without a second thought, she charged forward, throwing punch after punch at the man who countered the attack with blocks from his arms. He was slightly stunned by the power the kid put behind each blow, causing his brows frowned under his mask. Super soldier serum? But how? He pondered, causing his guard to drop for a split second as a blow planted itself into his abdomen, causing him to stagger backwards.
Defiantly super soldier serum.
With his mind settled on the reason behind the young girl's strength, he threw his shield at the advancing girl, unafraid it would cause her any severe damage.
As the disk flew through the air at Xpel, she sucked in a deep breath, throwing her hand out to get the shield under her control. But her attempts were too late as her head throbbed in pain, unable to focus with her lack of strength from only recently using her abilities. The shield plummeted into her throwing her back into the truck with a thud, denting the door panel on impact, as she was knocked out cold.
