Don't

That message wasn't what I was expecting to get home to. It's not like I'm new to strange texts - I get them often due to becoming a famous TV show host - but this one was way beyond my belief.

"I'm not sure if you got my message a little while ago but I was wondering if you'd read it? I'd love to hear back if you wanted to go on that date or not."

I did in fact read the message that was sent a little while ago and I also did in fact decide to ignore it. After everything that had happened over the past year and how many friendships and relationships had been ruined, I didn't see the point. Besides, I have too much going on at the moment with the show to even think about going on a date, especially with my ex. Considering all the drama that came out of the love triangle in the first place, people seeing Nya and I on a date would definitely cause some controversy. It's the last thing anyone needs.

To be completely honest, I'm not sure why she's interested all of a sudden. Last time I saw her, she was all over bolderbrain and didn't want anything to do with me. We haven't seen each other in 6 months, why would she want to come back now? It doesn't make sense. Although, at the same time, it does intrigue me. If Cole was so great, why did she want to be with me?

Perhaps there's something I don't know about?

Whatever it is, it's not my business. Neither is whatever Nya wants.

I leave the message on read once again, not caring whether she'll get annoyed or not - she might eventually get the hint - and put the phone gently onto the coffee table. Switching on the TV to a random channel, I sit down with my cup of tea and plate of biscuits. You can't go wrong with some good old custard creams.

Flicking through each channel trying to find something decent to watch is proving to be difficult however. I'm struggling to focus and just keep skipping whether it's a good show or not. It's not unusual for me to lose my train of thought, especially after a long day of standing under hot lights and flying around a stage, but all I can seem to think about is that stupid message. It's not that I actually want to meet up with her, but it's just frying my brain.

What if something had really been going on between her and Cole after the team split? I know it's not really any of my business but it would've been nice to know so that I didn't keep holding onto false hope. Maybe making one call wouldn't hurt..

Turning the TV on mute so I don't have to awkwardly stare at the reflection of myself on the blank screen, I put my tea down and pick up my phone. I scroll through my contacts list, reading names I hadn't heard in a long while until I eventually reach 'Cole'.

I'm hesitant to call at first, questioning my sanity, before sighing and pressing the button. Putting the phone on speaker, it strangely doesn't take him long to answer.

"Hello?"

"Hey."

There's a moment of awkward silence before one of us speaks again.

"Why are you calling me?"

"I just wanted to ask about something. Do you have time to talk?" I ask more quietly than I should've.

"I guess so," he replies hesitantly.

As much as I hate talking to him, hearing his voice again is relieving. Is it bad I sort of missed it? Last time we spoke was one of those stupid arguments so it's nice to hear him not screaming at me for once. There's something so comforting about his deep, soothing voice.

Although I'm likely about to ruin the peace again.

"Have you..spoken to Nya recently?"

Silence.
