Corpse's pov

I step on it, speeding down the road. I place my hand on Enna's thigh, seeing her confusion in the corner of my eye. I don't want to stay here. I don't want to do this anymore. When she mentioned wanting to leave, I know she wasn't thinking about it properly but it made me think. I don't want to do this. I've been so blind for the two years we've been doing this for. This is inhumane. These are innocent, nice people.

With a look in the rear view, I see little hairs and parts of horns sticking out and I know there's a creature in the back. Shit.

"CORPSE!" Enna points Infront of her at the line of monsters waiting in the roads way.

Enna must've told Bug to tell them to do that.

All of a sudden, I get an idea and put my arm across Enna to hold her to the seat, press the open boot button on her own keys and speed up, swinging round in a very illegal U-turn.

Enna gasps and watches Bug fly out of the boot with a horrified look

"What? It's good! We aren't in danger anymore!" Rachell says.

Enna stares at me as I drive towards the woods.

"Where are you going?!" Sykkuno asks, freaking out.

"To the radio tower. We found the keys and we just need to get up there and call the police, we can't get down the road so hopefully police will hear our cry." I say confidently while looking in the corner of my eye at Enna. Her eyes fill with tears that drip down her soft skin.

She shakes her had at me and mouths: that was bug.

While I knew it was, I forgot what he meant to her. Shit. I just hurt bug. Shit. Ah fuck.

I keep driving, through the trees and around the pot holes.

If we couldn't get out there, I'd atleast want to try to save them and myself by calling the police.

When we get to the radio tower, I skid to a stop and get out, taking the keys with me.

The rest of us but Enna also get out. She just sits there, crying.

"Enna move!" I yell and open the car door, unbuckling her and yanking her out by her arm.

"DONT FUCKING TOUCH ME!" She yells. I grab her and pull her close.

"Don't get defensive for bug. You'll give us away." I whisper and kiss her cheek before letting her go. I shut the car door and take her hand, running up the radio tower stairs before everyone else.

When I get to the door of the radio tower, I fumble with the keys and unlock it.

"In, in, in everyone get in!" I wave the three of them in. Each of them pile in so I shut the door and lock it.

"Great. No fucking power, how do we use the phone with no power?" Enna squints at me through tears that still keep falling.

"WE FIND THE FUCKING WIRES FOR THE GENERATOR!" I snap, now completely stressed out.

"I'm going to get them." Enna grabs the keys off of me and unlocks the door, walking out.

"Enna no! You can't go alone! We'll all come with you." Rachell grabs Sykkuno and runs out after her so I have no choice but to do so aswell.

"Then we'll split up. You two go where you need to go then split, me and corpse will and then we'll split too." Enna says as she walks. I shut the door and lock it before hurrying down the steps and towards the group.

I jog to Enna's side and walk with her.

"Get over IT. He probably didn't feel it." I whisper.

"You still hurt him." She whispers back to me.

"We'll go this way!" Rachell waves at us and then the two jog off in the opposite direction.

Enna waits around and checks until the two others are gone.

"What stunt were you pulling?! You looked like you were ACTUALLY gonna drive out of here." She storms up to an orange campervan in the distance and shoves the door open, walking in. I step up into it too and shut the door behind us.

"Listen! I want out. I can't do this anymore! You aren't who you used to be and honestly, this is more wrong than you played out in your head." I snap at her. She seems taken aback.

"Surely you don't mean... You want to leave this place for good?" She tears up again.

"Yes! I do. I want out. I want to go. I love you so much, I want a real baby with you, I want to get married in a real church , I want to live normally, not killing the innocent for a bunch of freakish people and eerie monsters!" I grab her arms.

"Corpse Bug is our child--"

"BUG ISNT HUMAN! BUG IS NOT OUR CHILD! We are humans, we are not creatures, just because he loves you a lot and you love him, you've become too obsessed with this place. The you two years ago was much more sane." I start to tear up for the first time infront of her in a few months.

"You really want to leave that badly?" She sniffles.

"Yes. I do but you can come with me if you--"

"No I can't. I was going to ask you to marry me here when those two died and that we could stay here. That we could forget our old lives and live here. But I know now... You want to go." Enna sobs, smiling at me.

"Enna don't do this to me." I sniffle, "come with me."

"I can't. My place is here. These monsters and even the psychopaths, they worship me, they count on me, they love me. I can't leave them here alone. The monsters can't leave the forest or they'll be hunted down, the murders here aren't hurting anyone unless they come into the forest or they're killing people at the farm. This is my place, I have to stay now." She leans her head into my neck. I wrap my arms around her.

"Do we still have to kill Rae and Sykkuno?" I whisper.

"We can't just give them three bodies. I don't know if they'd be happy."she sniffles.

"Then can we atleast let them decide what they do?" I ask.

"How is that going to work? They'll want to leave." She pulls back from me to look me in the eyes.

"I have a feeling they won't say anything if they leave. Please just... Give them a chance." I shake my head.

"Okay.." she nods.
