Chapter 8: Trouble Continues

Mukund was furious when he noticed the cash from his safe was missing, he immediately speculated that Laila and Tauqeef could be responsible for the theft. Trying to control his anger and not being able to understand why Laila would become a partner in crime with Tauqeef knowing he was already going to find a way to marry her eventually, his phone rings, it was Ravi calling.....

Mukund  "Ravi please tell me you have an update? And that your team caught those bastards...."

Ravi replies "Mukund... I do have an update but most likely you will not like what I am about to tell you..... We looked into Tauqeef and Laila's case. While we were trying to track them we apprehended a suspect named Usmaan.... Who was trying to push your crashed car off the road."

Mukund freaks out when he hears about the crashed car.

Ravi "Don't jump to conclusions just yet.... We thrashed Usmaan a little and he started talking like a parrot.... Apparently Laila is Tauqeef's sister.... Laila Khan and Tauqeef Khan... and this fool that we apprehended is their cousin Usmaan Khan.... They are all fraudsters... Their only intention was to rob you in the end... consider yourself lucky that it was not too late for you..... And you are only out a few lakhs for now.... "

Mukund in anger "Those scoundrels.... If I ever see them again I will shoot them in the head.... Bastards.... Tricked me to make a complete fool out of myself.... That Laila... Bloody Gold Digger.!!!! Argh!!!..... I can't believe I was in love with her.... And I was aggressively going against my step father and on the other hand was also discarding Naina from her rights of being my wife............. I am such an idiot......"

Ravi "By the way... I think we may have a lead on Naina too... one of the sub inspectors from my team gathered some information when we found your car.... A witness saw two men grab a woman in an old beat up truck leaving the scene going east on Highway-323.... We have two separate teams following the lead under my best officer Syed Mareez... Once Syed gets on a case... he only results in success by solving it.... So wait to hear from me soon....."

Mukund, out of no choice, decided to hold his breath just for a little while longer.

Puran looked at his phone and it was completely dead. He see's Naina strolling up and down waiting for help to show up. Weather was getting gloomy and there were slight drizzles of rain. Naina walks over to Puran and shows concern about the police not showing up.

Naina slightly suspicious "You are sure the police have the right location? Why are they still not here?"

Puran in a convincing tone "I told them briefly about where we were on this highway..... but there is no way I knew our exact location. I thought they would track my phone but unfortunately my phone's battery is dead."

Naina looks concerned with mild fear "What were you doing here in the first place? How did you find us?...... Are you hiding something from me...???...... Don't .... Don't come closer to me...... is the police even coming....."

Puran explained that he was just passing by when he noticed all the commotion when Monty and Maru were dragging her to the back of the truck. Naina felt something was suspicious about Puran's story and she hesitatingly takes a step back and tries to move away from him. Puran takes a few steps closer to her and grabs her tightly by the arm. Naina starts to fight him off but she is no match to his strength. Puran pushes her firmly on the ground and tells her that his head is hurting and for her to stay quiet.

Puran stares at Naina's exposed belly as she slowly tries to get back up on her feet and fixes her saree as a result of that.
