"Raise the Anchors!"
3-4 men scrambled towards the black anchor chain, heaving the heavy load up onto the ship's cedar wood flooring.
"Hoist the Sails!"
Leaping from the crows nest and reaching for the ties of the sail ropes, Kaeya, the ship's resident boatswain, skilfully untied the knots and swung down firmly landing on the cedar wood deck.
"Set course!"
A lady in an ocean blue jacket, sprinkled with stars, shuffled her way towards the helm of the ship casting a watery mist. "Casting a divination is not that easy, Captain Jean, a navigator needs her time".
"I understand that Mona but we need to get these goods to Liyue harbour before some pirates do!" answered Captain Jean. Her turquoise cloak flowed in the wind as the ship began to move towards the great blue ocean. She stepped towards the prow of the ship and grasped a telescope from her pocket.
"I've been put up all night for this expedition, I'm already feeling sleepy. I might need to ask Lisa for a stronger cup of joe-"
"Ask Lisa about what Captain?" A tall, brunette woman, adorned in luxurious purple robes tinted with gold and silver accents, carrying what seemed to be a stack of old paper maps, ones of which Jean can only assume she was throwing into the sea.
"Oh... Hello Lisa, funny seeing you up this early, how is my favourite onboard librarian doing?"
"She's quite well, thank you.".Lisa knew of Jeans bad sleeping habits, always pushing herself too hard to achieve the best results. This always drained her of anytime or energy she had, almost as if the job she had was draining her like some kind of energy vampire.
"Honey, please rest, you prepared enough for this delivery..."
" I know Lisa but-"
"No buts I'm going to get Y/N right now so they can lead this expedition, they're not your first mate for nothing!" Pushing Jean towards her quarters, Lisa taps Kaeya on the shoulder relaying him your new temporary status as Captain.
...
"Well it seems someone got a promotion~" The blue haired boatswain teased. The man pat your back with harsh force causing a small cough to rise from your throat.
"Huh, yeah I am, please don't do that again..."
"Can't count on it bucko or should I say Captain" You could see a large smirk erect from the man's mouth. You could tell this expedition was gonna be a lot of fun.

Carrying several Crates of Dawn Winery's precious dandelion wine and other various Mondstadt goods is a gruelling task. To those who are unaware authentic Dawn Winery dandelion wine can fetch a high price on the black market, where ever you are in Tevyat.
This is the exact reason why Jean has a trusted set of crew members in case of temporary crew mates working with pirates or thieves. However today is different, you were appointed captain and this ship need more crew mates to guard the cargo. Typically Jean would appoint you and Amber to guard the cargo, however, Amber stayed back in Mondstadt for personal reasons and you were the captain.
So the most logical thing to do would be to hire some mercenaries to guard the cargo, yes? Well it turns out those mercenaries were also pirates out for some sweet, sweet mora and a whole lot of dandelion wine.
That's why you're out late in the night fighting off those mercs with sword and ice. You could feel all the tension rising in the atmosphere as each of mercenaries get closer and closer to defeating you. They slash their blades at the speed of light, each hit you could just narrowly escape.
One slice got so close you that you could feel the force on your neck hairs.
"Freeze!" Exclaimed Kaeya, casting a frosty mist onto to the enemy mercenaries. Combined with the power of Mona's hydro vision, your crew was able to defeat the mercenaries but one thing still lingered in your mind... what would Jean think?
The sea was calming and the sky was sprinkled with twinkling lights, glittering in the sky. On nights like these it gives you time to reflect. You stand still, looking across the ocean from the side of the ship, you sigh as you recount the events of today.
Getting ambushed, tricked by pirates, having the cargo almost stolen and even delaying the voyage! You had done nothing but mess things up and the worst part is that Jean trusted you, she had placed her hope in you and you had just thrown it all away.
Sighing, you looked towards the ocean admiring the reflection of the twinkling stars, but that's when you heard it.
"I always thought I'd be bad now I'm sure that it's true..."
At first what you heard was the squeak of the ship floating on the ocean turned into a tune, it was sweet like honey and as smooth as silk, t'was an ethereal voice, velvety and angelic.
" 'Cause I think you're so good and I'm nothing like you..."
Where was the voice coming from? You looked down at the ocean, amongst the dark ocean, you see a stream of sparkling red scales, shimmering through the deep sea.
"Look at you go, I just adore you..."
Out of curiosity, you take out your hand, you reach out for the strip of scarlet flowing in the ocean, gently stroking it you realise that it was not a bundle of coral or a tangle of seaweed, rather it was scales?
"I wish that I knew..."
"What makes you think I'm so special..."𖢻✧𐬿𐬺☆𐬺𐬿✧𖢻
