PAI'S CLOTHES WERE too big on Sky. It shouldn't be a surprise, but it was and Sky didn't know how to feel about it when he looked at himself in the mirror. Wet black strands of hair fell over his forehead, brown eyes looking back at him in question, like silent judgment. He shouldn't be here, he knew that very well, even without his reflection pointing it out in an obvious manner. The black hoodie was actually really comfortable though, even with the sleeves hiding his fingers, so Sky decided to focus on that instead and leave the self-loathing for when he's back at his place, alone. Because now he could still hear Pai loudly talking nonsense on the other side of the doors; Sky had asked him to do so while he took a quick shower, because he was afraid Pai might fall asleep while he's gone.
"So then Payu said he'll race that clown even though he doesn't actually like racing. He prefers to work on the bikes, you know? But I guess he wanted to show off in front of Rain," Pai continued, making Sky snort as he quickly towel-dried his hair a little. "Which he did, mind you. I'm not saying my best friend is all talk, no walk. He won by a landslide, but that's what pissed me off. He doesn't wanna race me, and how am I supposed to know if I'm better than him?"
"Maybe he's trying to spare your feelings because he knows you're not? I mean, he does see you race all the time, doesn't he?" Sky suggested, getting out of the bathroom to see Pai sprawled on the bed, leaning against the pillows. Sky was grateful for the fact that this wasn't the same condo to which Pai had taken him back then, because he wouldn't be able to focus on anything. When he didn't get a reply, he turned back to Pai to see the man staring at him with wide eyes. "What? I did wash all the blood off, didn't—"
"You look amazing in my clothes, Nong'Sky. You look so nice in black, did you know?" Pai rushed all the words out as if he was afraid Sky would tell him to shut up before he could say everything he wanted. Sky could feel himself blushing and he didn't even know where to look from embarrassment, because the thing with Pai was that he was very generous with compliments and he could make it sound so sincere... Years of practice, most likely, but Sky just wasn't used to it and so he couldn't completely guard himself from how it affected him.
"You really injured your head, didn't you?" Sky huffed finally, walking towards the nightstand where Pai left the meds and his prescription. "Hm, it says you shouldn't take these on an empty stomach... What are you doing?" Sky frowned, his whole body stiffening when he felt Pai's arms wrap around his waist. The man moved closer to the edge of the bed, resting his head against Sky's back, and the only reason why Sky didn't immediately move was because he didn't want Pai to hit his head more if he didn't let go.
