A house looms in the distance. Not a welcoming one, either. It looks like it could be abandoned, but the lights are on proving it's not. We make our way onto it's porch, and jump through an open window, leading further into the house.
We arrive into a kitchen, with food and such spilled everywhere. It was messy, to say the least. Messy, but definitely lived in. Speaking of, where are those two people we were following? I look at Mono, who seems perplexed at the sight of the kitchen.
"Are those two here?" I ask him, only for him to sigh. He looks around one more time before answering. "I can't think of any other place they could be...I don't know where I was expected they were, but it wasn't...here." He looks towards the door.
"Let's leave the kitchen, it has a terrible smell." He walks over to the door, pushing it open. I follow, silently agreeing that the kitchen did smell.
We arrive into a hallway. "So where do we go from-" Mono began to speak, before interrupting himself. He puts his finger to his mouth to signal for me to be quiet as well. We both listen. Music seems to be playing, music that seems like it would be on a music box of some sort.
The music was coming from the door that was slightly ajar. Mono looks at me before following the noise. I begin to follow as well, before I stop. Something seems...wrong. I felt this earlier too. Like something bad was going to happen. Once more, I push the thought aside. I'm just being paranoid, everything's okay. I give myself a short pep-talk before I shortly follow Mono into the doorway.
Turns out, the door led to a flight of stairs. A basement...of course it's a basement. As I walk down the stairs, each board seems to creak with each bit of pressure applied. At last, I reach the bottom. The music is at it's loudest, although there is no music box in sight. Looking around, I spot Mono on the ground, looking baffled.
I walk over to him, and quietly question what had happened. He pointed over to a seemingly random wall. "See that? Those are boards. Someone is inside there. I'm trying to find a way in." He responds in a whisper. He looks down at the object near his feet. "The axe that was in the wall broke when I pulled on it...any other ideas?" I look around, spotting a room engulfed in darkness. "Have you went in there?"
"Actually, no! Good job finding it!" He quietly exclaims. I laugh a bit. "I didn't really find it...it was right in front of us." While he is busy trying to figure out when in his life he went blind, I entered the room.
Mono watches me enter, then turns back around, smelling something off. He walks towards the smell, getting more disgusted the closer he gets. Looking around, he couldn't figure out where the smell was coming from...until he looked into one of the bags near him.
