Eventually we made it to the end of the rooftops. In front of us was a building, and to enter the building, there was a window. The only problem was that there was no apparent way to enter the window without falling to our death. It seems that it's just out of our reach.
There did seem to be one solution to get across, but it wasn't a pretty one. Above us was a set of wires, and on those wires was a single hanger. If you used the hanger to slide to the other side, going through the window would be possible...in theory.
But it just seems like it wouldn't work. If any of us grab on the hanger, I doubt it will feel stable. I mean...it's a hanger, you know? And below it is a long drop to our death. However...I'm not seeing any other way across. It seems I must trust the hanger.
I point up at it. "How do we get up there?" I ask them two. They both look at what I'm pointing at. "That? I don't know..." Mono says, still looking at it. "I think that controls the wire." Six points out a lever nearby. "Oh! Maybe..." Mono begins, then starts heading over to the lever. "Okay, I'll move the wire, you two just get on the hanger and I'll move you two across." I was about to get on the hanger first, but Six stopped me. I guess she wants to go first?
Six grabs the hanger and Mono, true to his word, started moving the hanger across to the other side. I sat there in nervous anticipation. It just looks so unstable, it looks so...unsafe. I don't want to get on it next...but...
Six made it across, luckily, and she lands on some sort of balcony. Mono motions for me to get on the hanger as well. I, very nervously, make my way over to it. I put my hands on it, and grip it as tight as I can. I close my eyes, not wanting to see. Before I know it, I feel my feet being lifted off of the ground.
Don't look down
Don't look down
Don't look down!
I feel the hanger come to a stop, and I open my eyes once more. The balcony is just beneath me. I let go of the hanger, and let myself drop down. Breathing a sigh of relief, happy that's over, I look back to Mono. Wait...
"How will you get over here?" I ask him from across the two buildings. "Uh...I-I don't...um..." Mono seems to realize the situation he's in, and panics. Surprisingly, Six holds her hand out for him, ready to catch him. "Huh? O-oh, right....okay..." Mono mumbles the last part, before getting ready to jump for Six's extended arm.
His feet finally lifted off of the ground, and he grabbed Six's hand. For a moment, everything seemed to stop. She seemed lost in thought. Was she going to pull him up? After a brief hesitation, she slowly started lifting him up to the balcony.
He lays on the balcony, relieved that he survived the jump. He honestly didn't think she would help him there. Maybe...they will all be best friends after all of this. But he doesn't want to jump to conclusions...she did still try to kill him earlier. Hopefully she's trying to change, and once that happens. Then, they will all finally be happy being friends.
Yes, they will be friends. She's trying to change, so he will fully support her. Once they finally get out of here...he is definitely making friendship bracelets!
"Hey, we shouldn't stay out in the rain too long." I tell Mono, who seems lost in his thoughts. "O-oh, right. Sorry." He stands back up, and he grabs my hand. "Alright, let's go!" He gently drags me along to meet back up with Six who had left us a bit ago.
He lets me go once we reach the window. We both jump through, and we see Six leaning against a wall, waiting for us. "Let's go." She boosts herself off of the wall, and Mono takes the lead. There's a door in front of us, but it seems a bit stuck. Us three use all of our little might to push it open...and eventually it gave way.
However, once we stepped outside of the door...we heard things falling behind us. We look back, and see the building collapsing. Parts of the ceiling were falling fast, and the door we just came through is now blocked by rubble.
The whole building was shaking, and the whole place was caving in on us. So we rushed forward, trying to survive. We kept running, but the building was always collapsing just behind us. We need to be quicker. We need to hurry!
Eventually, we see a hole in the floor. Me and Mono jump down the hole on instinct, hoping that the building won't crush us.
But Six got caught in the rubble behind us, and we didn't even know...
