“Hey Asiah, Alexis” Tracy, Ellis' girlfriend says
“Hey Tracy” I say hugging her
“Haven't seen you in awhile”
“Yeah, been busy with work and family” I say looking at Alexis who's playing on my phone as she sits in the grocery cart
“Ellis told me about Elijah I'm really sorry”
“What are you talking about?”
“You know about how he cut his hours back on school and started working at Leroy's Car Wash part time”
“Oh yeah, it really does suck doesn't it” I say getting mad at Elijah for keep this secret that his friend's girlfriend knew before me.
“I've got to go but I'll see you guys around”
“Okay, bye Tracy” I say
“Bye”
I continue to push the cart down the aisle “Hey baby girl you wanna go see daddy?”
“Yes” she says smiling

I hold Alexis' hand as we enter the car wash “Hello there beautiful ladies how can I help you today?” the guy at the counter asks
“Umm there is a worker here named Elijah?”
“Yes”
“I think he might have taken my phone by mistake while cleaning out my car...it's a pretty popular phone so it's an easy mistake”
“Oh, well I'm terribly sorry”
“No worries”
“I'll go get him for you right now”
Alexis pulls away from my hand I look over my shoulder and see her playing with building blocks
“Look, lady I don't have your...” he stops once he sees me “Oh shit” he mumbles
“Hi, daddy” Alexis says
“Hi, baby girl”
I put my hands on my hips “Your suppose to be in school not working at some car wash...what the hell is going on Elijah?”
“I promise I'll explain everything when I get home...I love you” he says coming from behind the counter he tries to touch me but I move away
“Alexis come give your daddy a hug and kiss we're leaving” I say crossing my arms against my chest
He picks her up and kisses her forehead “Did you have fun at school?”
“Yeah”
“You didn't get into any trouble today?”
“Nope, I was a good girl”
“That's good, I love you”
“Love you too daddy” she kisses his cheek
“Asiah” he says trying to reach out of me but once again I move away
“C'mon baby girl let's go” I say
Alexis jumps from his arms and we leave Leroy's Car Wash.
As we drive home my phone rings “Hello” I say using the hands free equipment
“I”m engaged!!” Angel yells
“What? Kevin finally popped the question...wait I thought you guys broke up”
