**Elijah's POV**
Since Asiah dropped me I was at UCLA car-less so I called Jamal to pick me up and we're in front of my mama's house
“Go” he says
“I am just chill” I say taking a breath then I get out of the car “Thanks Jamal”
“No problem”
I walk up the steps to my mama's house I stand in front of the door trying to get the nerve to face her even since her introduced Jamie to me I've hated him and that was probably roughly two months ago.
Two months since I've talk to my mother, the women who gave me life it's probably the longest we've ever gone without talking exclusive the time I was in a comma.
I press the doorbell the door swings open Jamie is standing there smiling “Oh, Elijah”
“Hi” I say wanting to punch him
“Would you like to come inside”
I look at this nigga like hes crazy did he just invited me in my own house, what the fuck? I grew up here. Hell I've still got a bedroom to go if I ever need one, he got it twisted if he think this is his house.
“Yeah” I say walking behind him
“Vicky's in the backyard”
My skin crawls as he uses his pet name for her we walk into the backyard where there are at least twenty people it looks like their having a get together.
“Who was at--” she stops when she sees me “Elijah”
“Hi mama”
“Hi baby”
I rub the back of my neck “Can we talk in private?” I ask
“Of course, I'll be right back babe” she kisses his cheek then we go inside
“Mama, I'm sorry”
“It's okay baby I understand”
“You do?”
“You always been the only man in my life and now that have Jamie you feel threaten and abandoned but I promise you you don't have to feel that way cause you'll always be my number one man”
“Love you mama”
“I love you too baby”
We share a hug and she kisses my forehead “You wanna stay?”
I shake my head “I wish I could but I've got to home”
Just them Jaime walks in “Just check in on you guys, everything away?”
“Everything great” I say
“Oh, I've got an idea” mama says
“What?” Jamie and I ask in unison
“We have reservations at that fancy french restaurant why don't you you, Asiah, and Alexis joins us for tomorrow night”
“I don't know”
“Insist you and the family come it can only bring us closer, right”
“Right” mama says kissing his cheek
“A'ight, I'll see you tomorrow ma”
“Love you son”
“Love you too, ma”
