"Ky' Thalleous," Hubris said slowly, mustering the courage to face the elder Sendaris.

Thalleous looked to him, his arms behind his back.

"Hubris?"

"I am sorry about my words a week ago," Hubris said. "It was in my anger, and nothing more."

Thalleous only grunted gruffly, still incensed. However, Hubris slowly gave him an envelope.

"It was from Ky' Galleous," Hubris said. "He wished it brought to you."

Thalleous took the envelope slowly and opened it. Hubris watched Thalleous read the letter. The Sendaris' expression softened, and then paled. He looked up at Hubris, his eyes blazing.

"Thank you, Hubris."

"Freeze!"

At once, Lucan stopped dead in his tracks as the beams of light suddenly flared to life. There were a handful of Kaltaris border patrol units with their guns aimed right at him. He squinted, unable to directly face those before him.

"On your knees!" Now!"

Lucan complied instantly, getting down on his knees slowly. One of the Kaltaris paused, immediately grabbing his radio while another proceeded to search him. A third carefully removed his backpack, gently taking the baby out.

"One unarmed human male," He said. "Carrying a Felina newborn with him."

Lucan was finally hauled to his feet. A Supporium was suddenly placed upon him, scanning for metallic items.

"We need a Felina nurse on the scene now!" The soldier holding the baby yelled.

Pretty soon, Lucan found himself in an interrogation room. Brief memories flashed of his entry into Ataraxia, but the soldiers here were more patient.

"Name?" The soldier asked, speaking the Conchord human tongue in a thick accent.

"Lucan," He replied.

The soldier waited.

"Your last name?"

"... I don't have one," Lucan replied.

"Do you have any identification?"

"No."

"Do you have any phone numbers, anything?"

"Not anymore."

The Kaltaris stared at him suspiciously, though he soon turned to one of the other Kaltaris searching his bag.

"From Felora," The second Kaltaris murmured aloud. "You were fleeing the regime change?"

"Yes."

The second Kaltaris however, stopped dead. He slowly pulled out a small silk cloth, a square decorated with the royal coat of arms.

"How?" He demanded.

"It is the royal family's coat of arms-"

"I know what it is!" The Kaltaris interrupted. "I am asking how you found him!"

"He... was given to me," Lucan answered tiredly. "A dying man's request to save his life... and so I accepted, not knowing his true identity until two weeks ago when I found that silk cloth with him."

The two soldiers looked at each other, suddenly nervous. They had taken in the crown prince of Felden. Sooner or later, the Necromancers would send their henchmen across the border in pursuit.

One of them stood up, briskly leaving the room. Lucan was watching, and the sudden motion sent him into a panic.

"Wait!" Lucan exclaimed, straining to make eye-contact with the second. "Please save him!"
