Scorpius sighed softly, brushing his hands through his blonde hair as he made his way down the hall. He paused for a moment at one of the open doors, staring into the room. It was an unfinished nursery, a crib against the wall with two side piece sat on the floor leaned against it, a few small toys setting on top of a white dresser across the room, a white rocking chair in the corner, and a rug that had recently been rolled up and put in front of the dresser. He stared at it for a moment, shoulders dropping slightly. It was going to be a temporary nursery, just until Scorpius' parents had left the manor, giving it to him and Rose so they could carry on in it.

Scorpius pulled the door shut, continuing his trek down the hall. He entered the kitchen, having expected to see Rose cooking like she usually did at this time , and was slightly surprised when she wasn't. He sighed, turning around and left the kitchen, walking into the living room and finding the woman where he thought she'd be. Rose was curled up on on the couch, hugging a pillow to her chest and staring off into space. Her cheeks were wet, and Scorpius assumed she had been crying again.

"Rosie..." he murmured, sitting down beside her.

When she didn't reply, he let out a soft sigh, reaching over and grasped her upper arm lightly. He tugged gently to get her to sit up, slipping his arm around her and pulled the woman close. She nestled her head under his chin, pulling her legs up to rest across his lap. He looked down at her hands in her lap, watching her fingers play with the hem of her shirt. He wanted to say something, but didn't want to make her upset again. Rose, however, seemed to read his thoughts.

"I know it's not my fault. I know it happens sometimes, I just...why me? I understand in muggle women, but the wizards at St. Mungo's gave me th-"

"The potions don't always work, love, they told you that." Scorpius interrupted gently, rubbing her back. "It always used as a precaution in case."

Rose fell silent again, Scorpius feeling her tense up. The two sat there for a long moment in silence. The man rested his chin on the top of her head, sighing.

"I know you want a baby, Rose, and I promise, you're going to get one. I promise." Scorpius murmured, trying to be reassuring. "One little bump in the road won't stop us, okay?"

Rose nodded slowly, shutting her eyes and pressed into him farther, sniffling.
