It's homecoming today. I woke up early to take a shower, I had my hair in a bun so instead of washing it I let it be and took it out after to reveal some pretty waves. It didn't take long until my mom was in my room with my dress. But what surprised me was that she had a pair of heels, a matching purse, makeup kit, nail kit and hair products on a trolly she brought the dress in. And breakfast. She had breakfast.
After I had finished eating here comes in two way too familiar people. Maria's hairdresser and makeup artist. Luckily they understood me and didn't go for what my mom wanted. Which was dramatic eyes and an undo, we went with light eyes since my blue eyes made them stand out and a nude lip with loose curls. By the time they were done with my hair it was already lunch. Patricia came over and they did her hair while I ate. When her hair was done had finished eating and went to do my make up while she ate. They kept doing touch ups until it was 4:30 and the game started at 8 but we told my mom 6 so we'd have more time out and get to change dresses without her knowing.
It was 5 when Caleb arrived at my house. Maria was so excited she was constantly taking pictures. Caleb was in his baseball uniform which was a must and he looked hella good in it. As we stood on my porch taking photos he leaned down and whispered in my ear, "you look beyond gorgeous". I looked down and then looked at him and smiled. "Perfect" Maria randomly squeaked. We just laughed and headed towards his car. He had picked up Patricia and her secret boyfriend and our outfit change was in his trunk. I jumped into the car ignoring what Maria had to say.
""We're here" Caleb spoke as he lowered the music. Not saying anything we all got out of the car. "We're going to the field, you go meet up with your team" I said as I started to walk away. Caleb grabbed my arm and bent down to wrap his arms around my waist. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he hid his face in my neck and lifted me up squeezing me to make the hug tighter. "You're going to do amazing" I stated as he slowly started to put me down. "I'll see you in the field" he whispered in my ear and winked as he ran towards his team mates.
I didn't quit understand baseball but what I did know was that the game was almost done. You could feel how tense everyone was as Caleb went up to bat. I could hear from people behind me that if he hits a home run or whatever it is the game is done and we win if not we lose. Caleb was nervous, anyone could tell but before he got to bat he looked around. I locked eyes with him and mouthed 'I believe in you'. It looked like he felt a sense of relief as he continued his way to bat. It felt like years watching him squat there waiting for the ball. But it was a very and I mean very nice view. In less then a second he swings his arms and everyone's cheering and he's running and we win!
Everyone ran to the field. Well everyone who supported the winning team. I went down to the last bleacher as all the guys including Alec went to grab water before taking a group picture. Caleb ran up to me and hugged me, lifting me off the floor. I couldn't resist his hugs. They were perfect. When Caleb put me down I could see out of the corner of my eye Rebecca was walking towards me. "Hi, I don't think we've met, I'm Rebecca" she cheered while holding her hand out for me to shake. After realizing I wasn't going to shake it she continued, "I've seen you around the school, are you new?" At this point I started to laugh. "No, I'm not new, it's me Melaani, you know who I am, I point out your nose job" I said trying not to laugh. "What kind of surgery did you do?" She asked with her normal bitch face. "None unlike you" I confirmed. She turned around and started to walk away, "don't fall, another surgery won't fix that, bitch" I continued. She glared at me as if it scared me.
By the time I realized it the guys were already going to the change room. I made my way inside the school to the guys change room door. It didn't take long until Caleb was at my side walking me to the gym where the dance was being held. "I heard what you said to Rebecca, good job, she deserved it" Caleb started. I slightly laughed "thanks but I highly doubt that's going to be the last I see of her". I sped up my walking in hope we'd get to the dance quicker since I could already feel the beat. I'm excited, this is going to be an amazing night.
